Just curious as to how black boots hold up in A'stan as opposed to in Iraq? Is the terrain friendly to black boots? Considering dragging a couple pair of my Goretex Danners if I head out that way. Thanks.

Any thoughts at all? I know there are more than a few here who have been to A'stan.

I trashed my Wellco's and I was just a FOB-hopping fobbit. The boots held up just fine but the finish was toast.

No problem - just don't expect them to be black by the time you leave;)

I have a pair of redbacks that performed well. if it is simply the colour issue you're worried about, they will blend in pretty quickly as we've alluded to above.
