The Jerry Ortiz Memorial Boxing and Youth Fitness Gym is currently seeking male and female volunteer trainers and assistant trainers to compliment our existing staff. Our gym honors the memory of Los Angeles County Sheriff Deputy Jerry Ortiz, who was killed in the line of duty on June 24, 2005 while conducting an investigation in the city of Hawain Gardens.

Both experienced and non-experienced candidates are needed to fill these positions:
Volunteer Trainers: Must have a USA boxing license and have had prior verifiable experience in training youth boxers. Volunteer trainers must possess a positive attitude and work well with fellow trainers and assistants. A background check is required and volunteer trainers should be able to communicate effectively in English. Spanish fluency is a plus.
Volunteer Assistant Trainers: Prior boxing experience not required. He/she will be required to obtain a USA boxing license through our gym (paid for by gym). A good, positive attitude is mandatory and volunteer assistant trainers must be able to pass a background check. Prior work with children is highly desirable. This position is perfect for college students, parents or local residents that may not have experience in boxing but would like to assist in other ways. Must be able to communicate effectively in English and Spanish fluency is a plus.
