He's full of BS. Just ask him how great he is. Do an internet search and find all the posts which "out" him and his claims to fame. I have yet to speak with any fellow Cop/SWAT guys who give him an ounce of respect or believe him.

+1. The guy (supposedly) starts one of his courses by standing next to a target and having one of his instructors shoot rounds next to his head with an AK to "keep me sharp." Read that in a review of his course, not my personal knowledge, but I know there have been more than a few people in the firearms training industry who have "outed" him as a regular jerkoff.
Of course, the firearms industry is also VERY much a "good old boys" network, but I've read and heard enough about this guy that I would definitely look elsewhere when looking to take some training.

Gabriel Suarez....Bahahahahahahahahahha! Here is a little story about him. If I remember right he pled guilty to a misdemenaor count or two and did some type in county.
SMPD Officers Charged With Fraud
Clara Sturak
Associate editor
On Friday, March 2, two Santa Monica Police Officers were arrested in connection with conspiracy to defraud the City of Santa Monica through Workers Compensation fraud. Officers Jason Comer and Gabriel Suarez were arrested along with Suarez' wife Cheryl Suarez.
According to a press release issued by the Public Information Office of the Santa Monica Police Department, the three were charged after a "long term and intensive investigation" on the part of the Department's Internal Criminal Unit, the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office, and the California State Department of Insurance.
Comer, 32, a six-year veteran, and Suarez 40, a twelve year veteran, along with Mrs. Suarez, are charged with four criminal counts, explains Deputy District Attorney Craig Omura, who led the DA's portion of the investigation. "Count one is conspiracy to commit workers compensation fraud, count two is workers compensation fraud, count three is money laundering, and count six is grand theft, because the money they obtained was over $400." Counts four and five, both for perjury, apply only to Officer Suarez, in regards to false depositions he gave in March and June of 2000. Details of the case have not yet been released.
The investigation, says Omura, has been going on since October of 2000, when the SMPD became aware of possible criminal activity. "They brought the information to [the District Attorney's office] in November of 2000. At that time we began a three-pronged investigation with the Santa Monica Police and the State Department of Insurance." SMPD did the most of the investigative footwork, according to Omura, consulting with the other two departments as to "what elements [they] needed to prove."
The charges and subsequent arrests were not made public until March 7, with an interdepartmental memo sent by SMPD Chief James T. Butts. Although there has been concern that some City officials were not made aware of the situation until several days following the arrests, Judy Rambeau, Assistant to the City Manager states that the City Manger's office was aware of the investigation from its beginnings. "The City Manager is always alerted when something like this is going on," said Rambeau in an interview on Monday. "That doesn't mean we have all of the details as the investigation proceeds. The police need to keep tight control over who knows what's happening at any given time."
In fact, that's exactly why City officials were not informed. Chief Butts' memo states that "there are other long-term investigations concerning potential fraudulent application for Workers Compensation benefits by other members of the department that continue." SMPD Public Information Officer Captain Gary Gallinot confirmed in a telephone interview with the Mirror that, "it was our intent that the investigations be entirely wrapped up before we went public." But, says Gallinot, the District Attorney's office felt they had enough information to go forward, and "since they are the prosecuting authority, it was up to them."
Once any arrest is made it becomes a matter of public record. However, the SMPD did not issue a statement on the day of the arrests. According to Gallinot, "the reason [the arrests weren't] made public is because we did not want to jeopardize the ongoing investigations. Once we realized it was going to be made public , our strategy had to change, and notifications were made."
Gallinot could not comment on the ongoing investigations, except to say that they are "specific" in nature, and that the DA's office is involved.
"It's important to note," he said, "that this investigation was started by our police department. We are vigorously involved in the discipline and prosecution of misconduct [on the part] of our employees. If you don't look for misconduct or criminal activity, you seldom find it. The fact that we do so shines a positive light on our institutional integrity."
Jason Comer, Gabriel Suarez and Cheryl Suarez are scheduled to be arraigned on Wednesday, March 14. If convicted, Jason Comer and Cheryl Suarez could serve maximum prison sentences of 5 years, 8 months, and Gabriel Suarez could serve a maximum of 7 years, 8 months.
[I][B]I read something similar where it is alleged that he was doing some training that bordered on outright stupid. I have also heard that he will close his eyes to the "prerequisites" that he sets down as long as they pay and are eager to learn. I'll be damned if I am going to get shot during training by some ASSCLOWN who bought a weapon after watching season 1 of 24.

Just another reason why I love these forums, you always get the straight answer. No watered down bullshit.

If you're talking about http://www.warriortalk.com/, it's cause his company runs it...
There was a big feud (probably still is) between that forum and Tactical Forums a ways back. Basically it was Gabe Saurez (warriortalk.com) vs. Pat Rogers (tacticalforums.com) and all their "minions" bashing eachother.
A look at tacticalforums.com is very educational in regards to my comment about the firearms industry being a "good old boys network." Not to say in any way that there isn't a lot of good info on either one of these forums, but it's interesting to see the link between who's on that forum, and who writes / gets published / gets positive reviews in a lot of the gun magazines. Always read these magazines carefully... If you do, you'll note that a lot of the articles "reviewing" certain items are written by people who work for the company that manufactured it.
An example is an article which, I believe, was in SWAT magazine. It was an article giving praise to Blackhawk's Gladius tactical light. Looking at the fine print regarding the author of the article's bio revealed that he was actually a Blackhawk employee, in charge of the development of the light (IIRC). A lot of the members of that forum are the same names you see endorsing eachother in these magazines.
Again, I am not saying that these guys aren't experts, and that the information presented isn't factual, but I think it's important to consider the source and what dog they have in the fight. And now that I've completely hijacked this thread, I'll shut up! :D

I hate that this guy has anything to do with the Dog Brothers.
The Dog Brothers are GTG, and he's somehow ingratiated himself to them.

Soooooo.....I'm sitting here bored with admin b/s and I decide to have a look through this thread (ohh yeah to keep myself uptodate:p ).
I rigt click the link provided, open in new tab....all's good. Read all the way to the bottom of the thread then open said "new tab". First thing I see is a picture that shows the 3rd guy from the camera (by my count) holding his AK magazine like it's a handgrip!
Then I scroll down and see an ad for "One Source Tactical" and their byline is "Dangerous things for Dangerous People".
Now all I want to know is who is going to pay for my new keyboard after my haji mart special was fried with the coffee I spat out as I burst into fits of laughter? :D
Back to typing on the laptop keypad until I get back to the Bazaar I guess LOL.
Cheers,
AJ

Is this the same Gabe Suarez run out of law enforcement. Could it be the same Gabe Suarez who worked for Santa Monica, CA PD who took a workers comp claim and was then videotaped rolling and jumping around in his training classes? Is this the same Gabe Suarez that was prosecuted for worker comp insurance fraud, convicted and thrown off the dept? Is it that same Gabriel Suarez? I wonder :(
