As most SWAT fans know, SWAT must have a lots of weapons in their aresnal to combat crooks and terriosts. Here is the weapons and the ones I peffered:
Pistols:
Glock 17 series: Glock 21 and 30 is the champion caliber in the series and are use by many US SWAT TEAMS such as SAVANNAH ERT. Glock 22 23 is use by the FBI, and the rest of course were use by hunderd of SWAT teams US and world wide. I like Glock 21,22,23. But 30,29 is also small enough to conceal during important missions and the small Glocks are replacing revolvers increasignly.If I am a SWAT operator, I would use the Glock series as my first choice because it is the best and light pistol I have ever seen and it's suits SWAT operations very well.
Sig Suaer: Good pistol. Use by some SWAT teams in US and World wide. But it is a bit expensive although it is good.
Heckler koch: The name and the reputation of this company is very good. The pistols are in a varity of caliber and size. ( eg: HK mk23 is in use by US special forces such as Seals,Delta Force)Some police SWAT or tactical team are already using it. It would my choice of pistols in SWAT operations.
SUBMACHINE GUNS:
HKMP5: The champion of all Sub guns(good accuracy, storng relaibility) and the mainstay of all SWAT teams world wide. But it's weakness is lack of punch( it can only punch through level 2 body amour at it's best punch) and expensive to buy. But it had two more caliber to choice from apart from 9mm, 10mm and 0.40, these two are better than 9mm in punch and accuracy is as good as the former ones. I would choice MP5 A5, SD6, 40A3, A3,SD3, PDW as my favourite ones for combat.
UZI: Not a bad Sub gun overall, it is used by somw SWAT teams in US,Isreal POLICE SWAT and some other teams in world wide and also terriost or crooks( it is the weapon that good and bad guys both have!) beacuse it is cheaper than MP5.
Mac 10: Still in the hands of some teams who needed a back up weapon when the main one is out of ammo, although it's light and easy to use, but accuracy is horrible and you have to be a good shooter to use it!
Berreta M12: Same as uzi, I would peffered UZI.
Colt Sub Gun: Good weapon as with UZI, MP5, it is lighter than these two in shape and real try. In use in some US SWAT teams.
LIGHT ASSUALT RIFLES:
M4 CARBINE: Good weapon, it is replacing the MP5 in US SWAT TEAMS and SPECIAL FORCES. Accuracy and relaibility is as good as most sub guns and assualt rifles. IT is one my best choices for SWAT WEAPONS.
HK G36: HK reputation at weapons is needless to say, the G36 match the M4 in many ways although it would a bit heavier than M4, but it is good as a SWAT weapon and it is already in use in GERMAN SEK and some America SWAT Teams. The G36K is one of my first choices in SWAT weapons!
SIG 551 SERIES: GOOD weapon overall, in use in some Europe and other police tactical team world wide, but it's weakness is expensive.
AUG: Not a bad weapon, good for SWAT weapons as the three above!
Shotguns:
MOSSBERG M590: Standard US military Shotgun, good for SWAT operations, nine rounds of ammo capacity make's it the champion of all pump-action shotguns and exceed some semi automatic shotguns, used by many US SWAT TEAMS. This weapon is absotely my favourite in pump action shotguns for SWAT actions.
BENELLI M1/M3 SUPER 90: Standard shotguns for many SWAT TEAMS in US and others in the World. The champion of ALL Semi-Auto Shotguns, my faourite one for SWAT opeartions.
Remington 870 or Winchester:Good pump action guns, in use with some teams world wide although these are a bit old,but still deadly in a well trained SWAT operator.
SPAS12or 15: good shotguns overall, deadly firepower when in use( SPAS 12 have full auto fire!)use by some Europe Police tactical team and others world wide, and it is adequate for a demand of a SWAT weapon and operation.
Sniper RIFLES:
Bolt Action:Remington M700, M40, M24,Robar sr60,SR90, parker hale, SIG SSG300 etc are good for SWAT operations and weapon. Use by many US SWAT teams snipers and other Tactical teams world wide. But it is not very good in fire supperssion miisions or some missions demand first shot, first kill. But it still good.
SEMI AUTO: Best for most SWAT operations, especially fire superssion. HK PSG1, MSG90,G3SG1 are the most famous ones. Good enough for a SWAT SNIPER, Weapon, and operations. The first two are regarded as champion of most, if not all semi auto sniper rifles. But these three are pretty expensive and xan be afforded by some rich teams like HONG KONG SDU, KOREA KNP868, GERMAN SEK, FBI HRT etc. My first choice of Sniper rifles are semi auto ones and are MSG 90, PSG1,SIG 550 SINPER RIFLE, G3SG1. The other good one is BARRET M82, 0.50 caliber and it's able to knock out cars and bad guys miles wide! But it's pretty rare in Police tactical teams, it is also very heavy and bulky. But I am sure some SWAT teams will use for special ocassions.
Well, whether anyone agree or not, but these weapons are certainly the weapons in most SWAT and POLICE TACTICAL TEAMS world wide.
