I searched here but didn't find much. Anyone here have any experience with these? I tried on a pair of Acadia's the other day but they were still a bit too high for my liking. I am looking to replace my hiking boots (which are pretty much the same height as the Danner Patrol) with this model of Danners and wonder if it's a viable option. I am well familiar with the quality of Danner as I have gone through 2 pairs of Ft. Lewis. Just looking for some input in terms of ankle support/comfort on these.

They sound like just a shorter version of the Acadia...which has been my #1 choice for 3-season wear in New England for about 5 years now.

What I like most about the Acadia is how I can be on my feet all day if needed, and not have sore feet, legs, or back. The soles are tremendously comfortable and I still have my 1st pair and there is still about 30% tread left. The first things to go in my Acadias seem to always be where the tongue meets the front of the shoe, so to speak, I guess salt/dirt/etc. gets trapped in there (yes I take obsessive care of them) and starts wearing at the leather, eventually cracking it. Never had any other complaints, been through 3 pairs so far and I will buy another. In the winter it's the Matterhorn M1949s for me, but that's not the topic...

I'd be interested to know if you can find a review of the Patrol anywhere, and I will ask around.

Still have my issues. Acadias are the shit.

Wore a pair for three years for work and off duty, I liked everything about them except for their weight- they're heavy boots. If you've had previous ankle-joint injury like me, these 6" boots will fatigue that area as they are fairly heavy, and they don't offer as much support as 8" do.

I wear my 6" oakley desert assault boots everywhere and they are much lighter and super comfy! (got a ridiculously low price for 'em at oakley HQ too!)
