Not sure if you guys have seen this or not. I got a copy of this from my old CO. This video was made of 1/9 back in 89 or 90, when I was there. I managed to convert it to digital and post it. Anyway, thought you might enjoy.

Awesome, cool to see how much we have changed and yet still know that the guy stumbling up the hill with the radio was hating life.

The dark green marine firing the 60 for a split second in this video was in my platoon at the time. Gibson, big football dude. I remember when 1/9 made this. Good post.

I believe so. Not sure if he was Bn. Co when the film was made though. Maybe because me and "Nick" didn't hang out together.;) Fergie may have better recall than I.

I didn't hang out with him either; I was an E-3 and he was an O-5. But I crossed paths with him again shortly after 9/11. Had a box in the back of the closet with two pristine walking dead PT shirts. Gave him one and the guy got a wee bit choked up. Good thing I had two; if I had had only one I wouldn't have given him one.

I didn't mean to sound like a dick, it was my poor attempt to be somewhat funny. Thats a cool story about the Tshirts by the way. I dont recall from your previous posts but did you spend time in 1/9?

Yeah, I was with Bravo 1/9 during the '91 float, and 2nd CM during the '93 float. Broke my heart after the '93 float when they got reflagged as 2/1. Now I hear 1/9 is back again.

'91 huh? Capt. K and 1st Sgt R? The later works for a large PD in California so I'm told. Solid guy.

Just happened to be home waiting on the poolguy.
Anyways, yeah both were studs. That whole company was studs. 1stSgt R had told me he was going to be a fireman IIRC, but this was right before he got out. The Wpns Plt Commander 1stLt D, was a mustang and another great guy as was one of the other Plt Cmdrs, I can't remember his name, his nickname was Junior (His dad was a full bird). I played rugby with him and then floated with him again in '93 when he was the CO of 2nd CM. Great company, best I ever saw.

Our BN Co was LT Col Mize, aka the Mouse. He later went on to become the Base Co at Camp Lejeune.

Boar (SL&H), you gotta remember that.

Cool vid, "blast from the past". I was reminded of how distinctive the sound of AH-1 rotors were. You could hear them coming from a mile away, but they made you feel all warm and fuzzy. ...in an asskicking kind of way.

You're right but Lt. Col. Pratt was there either before or after. I just dont remember which and I'm too lazy to look it up. :)

Side note: Pup got ahold of "Boogin".
