Greetings from NSTC. Particularly Naval Hospital Corps School. I have been searching for this answer for some time and decided to post a thread upon what I was told today.
I’m currently a student here and in the Dive Mo program for Recon. I just talked to one of the instructors responsible for the program and he gave me some bad news today. He said there would be no more BRC this fiscal year and that they could not get more into the pipeline for Special Amphibious Recon Corpsman.
I was confused by this because a career counselor told us that there are two May and August Field Medical Training Battalion schools still available. My graduation date from Corps school is mid April. After hold, leave, and going through the two month school the fiscal year would be nearly over. Seems like a BRC would start up again in October when the next year begins.
So my questions are,
How many BRC are there per year?
What months are they going to be held this year.
