Ok the first step in any addiction is admitting you have a problem and well I have a problem. :D

Ok we have had a game system in our house since the first PS but I have never really gotten into it but the kids have always used it; that is until COD4. I will actually get into fights with my boys over who's turn it is to play and accuse other players of "glitching" if I loose or dont get the air strike. Am I alone, I think I need a support group or a Clan or some shit like that?

Help!!!

You're not alone. My brother was borrowing it for his 360. I had a couple nights where I was playing about 11pm to 3am because I got stuck on the stupid sniper mission at about 1 and couldn't get past the amusement park for two hours because apparently the AWB is in force for the SAS and I only had 10rd mags for my M21. At that point, I should have said, "sleep" and done so. I couldn't...I have a problem.

So, you're not alone...

we're gonna get shit on here, though :D

I've got it for my 360, but haven't even plugged it in yet. I can tell its an addiction waiting to happen.

Moving into the new house (my first house, yay me) next weekend, and I imagine once that's done I'll fire it up and turn into a hermit.

Then don't buy Rainbow Six: Las Vegas. For the love of Gawd.

The AC-130 mission is AWESOME though.

I didn't like that game. There were too many groan inducing factors to it. CoD 4 actually has a good storyline and voice acting.

I'm not a big "Gamer" myself, but i play COD all the time. My rank is 1st level Prestige 50. I recommend playing this game multi-player live.

No co-op mode...Ony thing I don't like about COD4. I dig the AC130 part as well, did it dozens of times after finishing the game. The sniper part annoyed me fighting 8 dogs. I ended up sneaking through it without shooting anyone until I had to carry my spotter. My favorite thing is playing arcade mode and all the scores pop up like Mario Brothers or something when you hit your targets.

Yeah, its a good stress buster after a long day. Although my wife does not respond well to my "take that, fucker", when the kids are within earshot.

Heh... so Im not alone... hahaha... ok, I admit it... I play it for PC but damn hackers every where. If your addicted to this game... dont step it up to PC cus its twice as worst, haha. I offically quit it and got pissed and punched the computer awhile back. After that I could careless about this game.

Another game that was worth it and we played it all time when I was in was Battlefield 2 for PC. Fighting over who could out-snipe who across the map (#15 in Sniper in Leaderboards out of 1,200,000 players, yeah I know I need to get a life) and what not with 64 players running around in one match. Yeah... it gets crazy addicted... I would say its worst than drugs.

But I think I found the answer to this addiction... find another game... ! hahaha

+1! But that is also the time that my wife wants to talk. She waits all day until I hit the power button on the 360 and that somehow turns on her "talk immediately" button. Also she wonders why I don't listen to her when she is talking during game play. I keep telling her, if you want to get my attention, show me your tits! That is usually when I get the  and she walks away for a few minutes and then I get the  .

I channel surfed into a documentary several weeks ago about nature taking back once civilized areas. Once of the sites they visted was Pripyat. They had to have sent a crew there to film the landscape for COD4. Even my wife said "Holy shit" when I fired up the 360 and went to the sniper mission to show her how accurate they recreated the scenery. Personally I still like Battlefield 2 because there are lots more ways to destroy the avatars of fellow gamers.

You'd think after 4 games, Sgt/Captain Price could actually drive....

Note to Self: When the OPORD includes "possible Nuclear Blast", it's time to "pursue possible contacts" AWAY from the OBJ....

My Uncle, Vietnam Era retired Army Aviator, sent me the Utube video of the AC130 attack... Complete with the PIC chuckling at the kills... in email stating it was our boys in IRAQ monkey stomping the church and the trucks...

I didn't have the heart to tell him it was a video game... Until I saw his "TO" list and all the active and retired personnel on it....

Of course the messenger got shot but, his reply to everyone else was priceless...

He flew Airplanes in Vietnam to mark the enemy with smoke... Then switched to Helo pilot and flew those until retirement... Great guy to talk to...

I'm proud of his son too he's active duty with 1st Group at Ft. Lewis...

Great men!

I saw that. The Earth without people, or something. But they visited Chernobyl to get an idea of how fast nature would retake the buildings. They went to the same amusement park from the sniper mission. I felt like I had already been there. It was an odd feeling.

One hell of a game. I play on PS3. I like the arcade as well. the take down on the aircraft is cool... "and don't call me Shirley".

I got a 1126 on that so far.

Oh yeah the AC 130 is the shit. "Naw He's scared shitless"

Great game.

If you play the SP....and wait until after the credits there is another short level.

I assume everyone knows that already...cause you gotta beat it to unlock the arcade mode.

I tried COD 4 on a friend's 360 a few months ago. After playing the first two missions, then trying-out the Spectre gunship one, I certainly liked the game. Good game, but for reasons beyond my comprehension, it never really appealled enough to warrant my own purchase.

As for R6V, well - I love that game to death. And, yes, I am rearing with excitement and ready to pick-up my pre-order of R6V 2.

Oh, and Mass Effect is the shit. Helps being a Canadian game as well. ;)

Yes, I have nerdy tendencies. :D

My name is KSM, and I'm a Call-of-Duty-4-aholic.

We have quite the support group going here! I bought it after it was out for about a week, and still play it on the PC all the time. I just found the cheat codes online (going into "God" mode and playing an entire mission with just a .45 is a lot of fun).

I have taken a break from COD4, but I was online a couple of hours every night for a while. I have the pc version and it is one of, if not the best single player game ever. The Splinter Cell and Rainbow Six series are close seconds.

Says the man who was dragged into a deathmatch game of Halo by his kids and then scored MVP! And CINC House had a bad habit of popping up with a shotgun at all the wrong times too...

And I have to agree, the game is addictive. Was playing Halo 3 over the weekend and one of my buddies asked what my level was after looking at my Xbox scorecard. All of them flipped out when I said level 53.

8 March 2008, 13:19
Yes, it's always trouble to try to explain to the wife that I can't talk to her (she also wants to talk as soon as the on button gets pushed) because I am trying to get my level up to earn new types of camoflauge for my weapons. Who would think it is so addictive to get a red-camo pattern for a weapon? My gamer tag: "cpt oslo".

Yea it was probably one of my boys; personally I stink but I still love it, my boys on the other hand are like mini online Delta Operators and average 15 to 20 kills a game.

About two weeks ago I heard my 10yr old arguing with some guy so I listened to him and he says to the guy something like, "Oh I'm stupid? Your like what 25 and arguing online with a 10yr old. How stupid are you."

Oh and we dont have one of those O-F-F switches. I heard Denial is a river in Egypt.

I'll get our screen name and post it later.

Second, one thing that drove me nuts about this game were the 10 rd. mags for the M21. What, are the SAS and the Marines subject to the California laws now?

Guess now I dont feel so bad about beating R6: Vegas in a day and playing COD:4 until I find all those laptops in each level (being an Intel weenie, I'm now obsessed with the laptops).

I wont take it online though, something about getting wasted by 9 year olds just doesnt appeal to my ego.
