I'm looking for a good fanny pack holster.I trail run and mountain bike.I got a Uncle Mikes that is a pos.I need more of a sport model with a wider belt.I normaly carry a Smith model 66 when I'm in the woods. But the pack keeps riding down my ass.I now have a FN 5.7 for its light weight so I need a fanny pack to carry 2 extra mags also.I run and ride solo hence the need for that much ammo in case I get hurt so I can signal for help. Thanks in advance.

London Bridge makes a good one. I'd think about a chest rig.

Have you looked at Wilderness Tactical Safepackers?

I have one that I use when holsters are not feasible. It can attach to belts, other packs, etc.

I have one similar to this one, but it is a bit more square in shape.

I put my Glock 21 in it with no issue. They have a tab that you can pull back with your off hand to expose the pistol for a clean presentation. Although I traditionally carry a leather Yaqui behind my hip, this "fanny pack" fit the bill on a few occasions.

Here's what I use. Most comfortable holster I have ever worn and is virtually invisible.

I had to wear concealed for a few years and the best that I found, here come the laughs, was Thunderwear. I could wear this with shorts and a t-shirt no one could tell and if they really looked hard they would just think you were packing more than the average guy. I could easily put a Sig 228 and both spare mags in it with no problem, just need to buy your pants a size bigger. For riding and running might be a problem, I wouldn't want the steel slapping me the junk for hours. I would post a picture but it would be a bit too revealing. Just my .02.

Low speed solution... I use a camelbak for running back home. I stick the pistol by the bladder, if I get attacked by rabid soccer moms I can just flip it off one shoulder and go to town.

Thats the one, however, my lack of skivvys would make that picture border on obscene. Long shirt tails kept the direct chafing to a minimum.

As I recall the title of this thread was 'fanny-pack' holsters. There are many fanny-pack holsters on the market. Most of them open a panel in the front, by pulling an exposed cord. Some have zippers, others have velcro. I have a couple; however, seldom use them because almost everyone knows that they are a holster, that sees them.

Unless I'm going to wear a suit, I now use a regular black fanny-pack, to keep my Glock 27, spare mag, retired police ID & badge, Canon, elf 700 camera & Spare battery as well as some assorted SF & Ranger coins.

It's not a fast draw rig, as one must unzip the pocket to gain access to the pistol; however, it is secure, and passes most places looking for people carrying. If I'm in a situation the is worrisome I've been know to unzip and keep my hand on the pistol, (Still not exposed.) until the situation clears up.

If I was still a working LEO, I wouldn't do this type of thing; however, since I'm retired I don't plan on taking offensive actions, just defend myself and family members in life & death situations.

I second the galco plus all unsuspecting bystanders think its a man purse so they dont expect me to come out blazing if I have to.

Thanks. Wish I could take credit. A guy at my old job let me try his for a day and I was hooked. Not the fastest draw if it's under a shirt, but it's there. FYI- I usually wore a black t-shirt underneath it because the shoulder strap would ride up a bit sometimes but if you have on a black t-shirt you really have to be looking to see it. That was my only complaint with the holster but the good stuff more than made up for it.
