Hi all,
Could somebody please explain what LAPD CRASH teams do? ive heard they have been quite contraversial, but i dont get much in the way of info this far south.

CRASH stands for "Community Resources Against Street Hoodlums". CRASH are LAPD uniformed gang units. Given the reactionary management of LAPD, I'm not certain they're still active since the Rampart scandal.

CRASH is no longer active due to the Rampart-Division Scandals.

The purpose, straight to the point, was to patrol gang infested communities and rid them of gang activity.
