Sir,
they were just pulling my tail instead of offering advice, and someone emailed me to say I had incoming and better close my post and appologize instead.
So that's what I did, sir.(though I don't have a clue what was so funny about me asking about SWAT teams).

We joke with just about everyone, including each other. Thicken your skin and stay put. Read alot and research other posts and topics prior to posting. There's a built in search engine on this site for research.

Homer,
When I e-mailed you,I did not tell you to
go away. I told you that I did not think
the SWAT Operators here in the US wanted their Photographs circulating anywhere, and
that was what your original post was asking
for.
You said they were for your own veiwing
pleasure,well thats fine,but this is a open
forum and for all we know you could be
anyone.
You e-mailed me with a list of LE dept. that
you have photo's of already. You said you got them from the Individual Dept. web sites.
I told you that was the route to take, if
the Dept. ok's it thats fine. I still doubt
The SWAT operators want ANYONE to have photo's of themselves or their teams
available to the general public.I may be
wrong,which I doubt! If I am then I'll be
the one to say I'm sorry!
So ask them again, they are listening.

SniperOne is correctomundo.
Most cops in general try to keep a low profile, especially swatters. There are exceptions to every rule, I am sure, but generally we keep our heads down.
So, while you may not be getting many folks sending you photos, it doesn't mean that you aren't welcome here.
We joke around alot, so you may have to be a little thick skinned. Some of these guys are a little rough around the edges, but so far they've given me a warm welcome.
Stick around. It would be nice to hear the view from Belgium every now and then! http://www.socnetcentral.com/ubboard/smile.gif

Homer posted on the Delta and DEVGRU boards asking about what kind of vests those dudes wear. He got a similar response. At least there he came back saying he was building a diorama. So, if that was his intention in this case he should just say so.

Thanks for the advice ,sir.I will stick around.
The delta and devgru questions I posted where indeed to make my 1/35 scale diorama as realistic as possible. It's just a hobby of mine.
The SWAT questions I pose out of interest .
I already have a large amount of patches and pictures from teams, most of them send to me by teamleaders;after contacting the depts'websites.
It is correct that a lot of them are hesitant about sending pictures out.I understand that very well.
Most of them find it ok though, while I always ask to black out distinguishable features as face, nametags and so on.
The most difficult team to get info on is Belgiums SIE/ESI,Special Intervention Squadron.US teams are always very friedly, and always try to get me something.(most depts have baseball style cards with their officers and even their tactical units on them)
Anyways,thanks for the advice sir.
Take care and be safe.
Chris.

homer,
Just so you know, on this board there is a section just for models. HobbyNet. It's down towards the bottom. The gang that hangs out there will be happy to help you out. The great thing about model building is improvising. Anyway, there are a couple of guys on the Hobby Net board who are big time SWAT/Delta/SEAL/CQB modelers and I think one of them is from the UK, wich should be a BIG help to you as far as tracking down kits.

That depends on whether or not we'll need beer goggles to look at them or not. http://www.socnetcentral.com/ubboard/wink.gif
