I'm trying to decipher the difference between Bladetech's exclusive product line vs. the new line that's being distributed by 5.11 and Bladetech combined (Revolution holsters?).

On the surface, it appears that the only difference is the fine print...and the fact that Bladetech's exclusive line is still carrying a higher price...where as the 5.11/Bladetech manufactured holsters are about half the price.

Is there really a difference in the quality line?

Any info is appreciated.

Thanks!

Thanks for the response. I've been trying out one of the 5.11/Bladetechs now for the last few weeks. Seems to be GTG...

Seems to be a little on the softer side than my original Bladetech???

Thanks again

BladeTech makes their regular Kydex line and then they make an "Injection Molded" line...

Blade-Tech now draws from its own injection molded capabilities and its many years in the holster business, to produce low cost, high quality polymer holsters. These holsters are made from a specially formulated polymer made for this type of injection molding. Stronger and more heat resistant than sheet material

They work and aren't bad, but they are definately a lessor quality than their standard kydex line. Simiar to Uncle Mike's if I had to make a comparison.

I currently own a 1911 and two Glock BladeTech holsters, and bought a 1911 injection molded one a while back just to check them out. They look identical, I'm sure they use the same mold or form, but you can pick which one is which fairly easily.

I ordered the 5.11/BladeTech double Glock Mag pouch to check this out, (I freely and often admit I'm a gadget guy!:D) and the mag pouch I got was definately of the injection molded variety, and their website describes them as....

Using a proprietary blend of polymers, Blade-Tech has engineered these holsters to offer lifetime performance in a wide range of conditions. The holsters won’t become soft in extreme temperatures (over 300º F) and won’t become fragile in low temperatures.

Now I'm not the smartest guy, and kydex may be a polymer, but they use "kydex" to describe their regular line, and "polymer" to describe their injection molded and 5.11 line so I assume they are very similar or the same. Again, they (the injection molded or the 5.11) are not bad, and I'm not saying dont go this way, just saying they are not peers to the regular line, and thus the price difference, in MY Experience.

Not an indepth review or anything but I ordered a 5.11/Bladetech RHS Holster for my Glock 27 last week.

Can't beat the quality for the price (29.99$). Adjustable paddle and a belt loop. Adjustable for different belt size also. All in all feel pretty good. Still need to tinker a little bit with it but I'm fairly sure it'll serve me well for range shooting/PPC.
