Can anyone recommend a light, and where to get one?

We have the insight technologies M3 tactical flashlight mounted to our UMP 40's. You need the rails mounted to the UMP for the light or any other attachments you would like to put on. I will grab my digital camera and post a picture of it if you want (although I will probably need helping posting it here as I have not done that before).

There are two types of rails for the UMP, a long rail which mounts on top for optics and a short rail which can mount in any of three positions along the barrel. We have the vertical foregrip mounted to a rail attached to the bottom position and then a rail attached to one side or the other depending on the operator's handedness for the light. The light is very powerful and is the same light we use for our Glock 22's. Each operator is issued two lights, one for the hand gun and one for the UMP. The operation is very simple and we have been extremely happy with it.

You can get the lights at a number of distributor's. I can name one who we deal with all the time in the Northwest. Botach Tactical in Los Angeles is another one. I assume you are LE if you have a UMP 40, email me off line and I can give you more info and email the photos to you, which I am much more adept at doing.

I have used a lot of tac-lights (on the job) and the very best is the Insight Technologies light.Period.

Here are some pictures of my UMP with the attached Insight Technologies M3 taclight, forearm grip and Trijicon Reflex optic. No, that is not me pictured in the photos, I took them. The old guy in the photos is our team grampa....whom we lovingly refer to as "Gramps" or "Pop"
