Ed Rodriguez of Precision Defensive Shooting School.

Bio here: http://www.precisiondefensivess.net/Instructor_Qualifications.html

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vS359eXZeQI

Some areas of concern in the vid at: 1.59 (rolling around), 3.25 (clearing), 3.47 (whole class is crowding cover), 4.21 (reload),

Bio says 'special ops' which is a rather broad area, but I figure someone knows someone who know.

Thank you.

Kelly

Should the "Sani Pari" on the home page actually "Sine Pari"? Im am not sure if that is some other way to write it. Does not seem like it.

The instructor quals look to be Army SF "type", maybe we could get more eyes on if the MODS moved it to that section? MODS?

just a thought

No. I understand your point but:

I moved it here from the SF area since the poster specifically uses the video to voice his concerns about the guys quals vice questioning other things. I also don't see where he's claiming SF.

Either the issue is what he teaches or the poster wants to ensure his background is what it states it is for reasons of credibility.

A guy could have a solid verifiable background but teach stuff that is questionable. The reverse is true as well.

Unless it's some sort of contract issue, if the stuff in the video makes someone uneasy then they shouldn't spend their money on his training. Good background or phony background is not really an issue. If the dude is outright lying about past affiliations to make a buck then thats another issue entirely.

By chance did anyone check out the photo gallery? "shiver", if this cat is legit, he is teaching alot of things that would get his cert from the NRA yanked. Some of the angles and positions he has folks shooting from would easily clear the pit walls. Not to mention proximity issues with steel frames and live fire....Sheesh.

Survival, Escape, Resist, Evade

He might want to change this to Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape.

Survival, Escape, Resist, Evade. Isn't that part of the intro to the "Unit"?

I also find this part rather intriguing. Am I missing something?

Thank you for moving the thread to a more appropriate place.

I exchanged a few emails with the instructor in question and I came away with a really 'this isn't right' feeling from the conversation. I did have two motives, #1 to see if this guy is worth my hard earned money and #2 to make sure he wasn't drumming up business off of phoney credentials.

I'd look like a total asshat (I'm good enough at that already) if I went out and said 'hey guys I found this great trainer locally and he's BTDT' and it turns out he's a total BS artist.

He only has two classes total he said and teaches them 3 weekends a month. They're not really named as far as I can tell. They seem to be a tactical shooting basic and a tactical shooting advanced.

If I learn more, I'll put it up here. Thanks for the guidance gents.

My two cents: there are way too many good and verified trainers out there to maybe waste your money with a questionable one.

Yahoo email address.
A lot of little things on the website that aren't quite right (a couple mentioned above).
The whole "we're cheaper than the other guys" mentality.

Not a place I would spend my money. Can't take the time to do it right or pay attention to the details on their website, I would expect that the same attitude extends to the range.

Sounds like an Old Frank T***y Clone. "We speak 5.56 here men!"

The video has a breach team walk up to and into the doorway and stop and shoot.

Though I walk in the shadow of the cone of death, I shall fear no evil for I have the invisible counter assault team on my shoulder... Oops, wrong assclown

I liked the telegraphed muzzle. Nothing like telling the room occupants that you're getting ready to come in.

The part of the video where the fat guy spins around on a rug in the dirt and shoots at various targets was interesting.

Kelly,

If it were me, I'd pass on this one. It's hard for me to articulate, but there are different things on the web site that don't seem right. Just my opinion.
