I am voting for Hillary Clinton. She brings the most leadership and has the most combat experience among the bunch. She has taken sniper fire after all which is more than most of you folks.
She will make a fine military leader. In all actuality that picture of her above reminds me of one of my old team sergeants. Would look the same is she had a high and tight.
Thanks.

Hell, vote for me.
None of you would ever have to fear loosing any of your rights, never have to fear another terrorist attack, and not have to put up with high gas prices. Welfare would be revamped. No more illegal immigrants or big, out of control government.
I would clarify the 2nd amendment, leaving no doubt that people have a right to protect themselves with firearms. Any firearms. All firearms. Anywhere, anytime, anyplace. No more "gun free" victim zones. No more having to be a victim. No more taking shit, on a personal, as well as a national level. Machine gun prices would come WAY down.
I would immediately attack all known terrorist camps, regardless of location, and advise all present terrorists that, if they attack the US, or plan to attack the US, or think about attacking the US, we will track them down, kill them, and everyone that supports, aids, or harbors them. I would tell you about the terrorist heads on pikes down PA avenue, and the creative use of pork products, but let's get the nomination first...
I would advise Kuwait and Iraq that the bill for our services is now due, payable in free oil. Don't wanna pay? Fine. I'm sure Iran would love your land and oil. I'd advise every Arab country to speak to Japan prior to attacking us. Hiroshima and Nagasaki were nothing compared to the nukes we have now... Attack us, and we will turn your country into a glass parking lot, put up a giant Walmart, and sell shit made in the USA. Speaking of Japan... I would send them a bill for damages for all they caused by bringing the US into WW2. They owe us very big for re-building their nation after they attacked us. Anyone seen any re-payment? Battle ships, planes, tanks, and people, are expensive. Time for an accounting.
As far as the welfare system goes... None of our hard working American tax dollars would go to support anyone for not working, or spitting out babies. You want that check? You freaking work for it. No excuse. If a one legged vet can work... If a blind vet can work... If an IED victim vet can work... So can the welfare sucking, third generation welfare sponges. You want a government check? Work. Bring back the CCC, stick all those welfare sponges out picking up shit in our parks and around our highways, and rebuilding our park systems. I would stop the flow of free money. You want OUR tax dollars? Work. You can't work because you are "disabled"? Come to me and I'll be the judge of that. I can find SOMETHING for you to do.
As far as illegal immigrants go... No brainer. No free education. No free medical care. No social security. No benefits. No free pass. You are here illegally, you are arrested and deported. You come back, you go to jail, for 1 year, then get deported. Get caught again, you get 2 years and deported (an so on). More than 5 years = life. I'll spend the money you suck from our society to build jails. They won't be comfortable either. No AC, no TV, no anything except a roof, four walls, and three meals consisting of enough to keep you alive. We don't like repeat offenders, and I don't believe in coddling criminals... You want to live in the US? Immigrate legally like the rest of our parents, or better yet, make your own country less of a shithole.
I'd do my best to reduce ALL government. Anyone know the latest number of government agencies with arrest powers? WAY too many.
During my campaign, if asked my views on something, I'd give an answer, no matter what group of loudmouthed people I pissed off. Don't like my views, don't vote for me. That's fine. I don't pander to every special interest group, and I could give a shit less about what people think of me, or my views. I'd wear a flag lapel pin because I'm proud of the USA, and I'd salute during the playing of the National Anthem. You'd probably even see a tear or two if you looked close. I don't think anyone running for President should kiss anyone's ass. It's the highest government position in the nation. It's not for ass kissers.
How's my platform so far?

He's the biggest turd in the stack, and the next 4 years are going to suck any way you cut it. Let the Democrats, and the worst among them, hold this hot potato for a while and hopefully hurt their credibility sufficiently that the whole party will just roll over and slip beneath the waves in 2012. And plug your nose ladies and gentlemen, because I think I'm going to get my wish. It could be a long 4 years - hopefully it will secure another conservative dynasty afterwards. One things for sure, if conservatives win in 08 they're going to lose in 12, and they're going to have to hang this recession around their necks to boot.

I think you may be on to something. I just worry about how much damage these fucktards could cause in four years!
Your strategy sounds well thought, but with Obama in the white house, before the next election rolls around we could all be disarmed, speaking French, and depending on the Canadian Military to police our streets while we watch Israel burn on the new CNN "liberal powerhour" primetime news show.
Obama isn't going to be a middle of the road president... theres only two possibilities.
-He will surprise us all and do good things.
-He will fuck things up in a BIG way.
...and by big I mean WAY big
I am leaning towards the 'way big' end of the spectrum.
If McCain takes office and doesn't appease the main stream media in his first two years in office then we wont see another Republican until sometime around the early 2020's...

Well, whatever happens, I'll be getting my guns and ammo now, probably a few vests, start putting away money in Swiss accounts, start looking for property in Finland, Switzerland, or Greece, and if all else fails, start a system of tunnels and bunkers under my backyard. :D
ANother conservative dynasty? The hot potato you mentioned was caused by the current conservative dynasty. Oil up 500%, Nat'l debt tripled, 3,000,000,000,000 for the Iraq war, Iran more empowered than it was pre-2003, highways crumbling, jobs lost, trade deficit thru the roof. Can you name one thing that has gotten better under the current dynasty? I may be with M-14, if we get stuck with another conservative dynasty, but for slightly different reasons....
Really Really sad when you don't know who to vote for and it's not in a good way. :(

...just out of curiosity
Since everything is the fault of the current administration, how much responsibility should we assign to the peace loving muslims littering the middle east with dead children that have fallen to suicide bombers? How much responsibility are we willing to assign the Klinton dynasty for inactivity against the middle east problem before it erupted into a hot potato?
While the current administration is busy killing savages that want to turn back the clock so the entire world is living in the dark ages under Shura Law, the other side of the isle would be busy handing out free copies of "Heather Has Two Mommies" in the public school system. Thank you but I'll take a conservative dynasty given my choices. High prices are better than giving in to the savages.
Name one person in the current administration that was at the controls of an airliner on September 11th; For that matter, name one member of the current administration that was IN CHARGE of the administration when the September 11th attack was being planned.
Placing blame is a VERY American trait. We need to hold people accountable, but we just need to make sure that getting pissed off at the fuel pump doesn't distract us from WHERE the problem really started.
If you ask me, Hillary is more to blame than Bush... if she'd been more of a wife, the last administration would have been able to spend more time working and less time chasing skirts and doing spin control.
When I see the democrats in congress wearing the same $60 Bargain basement suit to work that middle America wears to work I'll start listen to their millionaire rhetoric about George Bush and his rich oil buddies. Until then, the fiscally responsible, hypocritical left can keep paying for 300 and 400 dollar hair cuts and paying grant money to the National Endowment for the Arts while they demonize Bush (while they praise the environmentally conscious hypocrite named Al Gore.)
Yes indeed, I'll take an overzealous dynasty over an elitist party of hypocrites any day.
just my two cents...
I never did get a John Kerry / Stephan King certified education so what do I know, my only option is the army.

I would argue that the current administration is not "conservative". They're not anti-gun control (remember, Bush said he would sign an extension on the AWB if it came to his desk and he's done nothing to encourage loosening current restrictions), they've expanded the government rather than contracted it, they've been soft on illegal immigration, they've done nothing for judicial reform and closing loopholes in the justice system, and yes, Bush ordered the invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan, but since then, he's been pussyfooting around and falling into the PC bullshit worrying more about offending people than actually getting the job done. The reason Iran is not because we invaded Iraq, it's because the politicians have screwed the pooch so bad after Saddam fell that they can't do anything to Iran short of an all out attack by the Iranians. This is not conservatism.
The problem is, the Dems always seem to have candidates who are basically socialists in all aspects and who are completely out of touch with mainstream America. But their strengths are that they at least cater to those who think like them. The Republicans are so obsessed with getting liberal voters they put forward so-called moderates and social liberals who are Republicans simply because of their fiscally conservative stance (such as Guilliani or McCain). Most of the nation would agree more with grog18b's stance, but the GOP is so stupid they'd rather get a few elite votes from the Dems and abandon their base.
Obama's "ideas" for "change" are going to basically do all the bad things that the current administration did, but probably 2x and in half the time.
Dems: Party of shitty ideas
GOP: Party of absolutely no ideas
I'm a little bitter. :D

Well, if your aim with your M14 is as bad as it is with your thought process, there will be no need to call Jack Bauer.
It's going to be more like Carter leads to Reagan than it is like Clinton leads to Bush.
I love how people like yourself exclude 9/11 from out of context statistics like these. There was a certain chain of events set loose by 9/11 that was inevitably going to involve some spending and shocks to the oil market. If the democrats would not have given us the same fiscal problems, it would have been at the cost of more security problems. Those with wisdom understood from the outset at 9/11 that it implied more that a quick operation in that part of the world. The reality is that we have not spent enough - not militarized enough - not been agressive enough. Certainly you wouldn't suggest the Dems would have done any of that.

Although I agree with what you have posted (the Republicans need to reassess themselves and they won't do that if they win), it took from 1964 and the loss of Goldwater to LBJ until 1980 and Reagan's election for the Republicans to revamp and rebuild the party. Yes, there were some Republican administrations in the interim, but the impact of the 1964 loss didn't really show up in Republican Party politics until the 1976 convention.

I would vote for Reagan now if he was on the ballot. Like John Wayne or Jesus Christ, "What Would Reagan Do?" is easy enough to figure out on any current issue.
Besides, a dead President sends a not-so-subtle message that we are not to be fucked with...for any who haven't gotten the message yet because they think they're whacked out devotion is greater than our steadfast determination.
Well...Ronald Reagan re-elected as POTUS would fix that misunderstanding for them his first day in office.

As currently constituted, the GOP would cut a prospective Reagan's throat and dump him on the side of the road. They need to clean house and chase all of the "moderates" (that's liberals for those of you who consider George H.W. Bush conservative) and homos back across the aisle to the Democrat freak circus where they belong. That would take leadership, though, and I don't think that is forthcoming any time soon.

Reagan was a moderate and a Democrat who said "I didn't leave the party, the party left me".
Reagan was a moderate and a Democrat who said "I didn't leave the party, the party left me".
Back then moderate meant moderate; today it means liberal, as in Lincoln Chaffee and others of that ilk. The GOP got to where they are now by embracing this "moderation" and becoming virtually indistinguishable from the libs. That is why Mudcat Saunders is kicking their asses in these special House elections. He's presenting Democrat candidates who, at least at first glance, appear to be more conservative than the Republicans.

+1 on this. That's the only reason I am even holding my nose, closing my eyes and voting for McCain rather than saying "screw it, I'll survive with Obama in the White House." McCain at least has declared his opposition to the AWB and his regret for voting for it the first time. He probably won't actively pursue more gun control (though I don't expect him to defend the 2nd tooth and nail) but Obama will probably do everything in his power to pass national laws that would make California's laws look like Switzerland's. It just really worries me with his "I'm pro-2nd Amendment, but I just don't believe that it means that people have the right to bear arms," bullshit. That would be one of the first things he'd go after.

McCain will not veto any gun control legislation that makes it to his desk if he becomes President. Neither will Clinton or Obama. From a 2d Amendment perspective? All three are the same.

It's a shame we have to go through so much up and down BS with our leaders.

McCain will not veto any gun control legislation that makes it to his desk if he becomes President. Neither will Clinton or Obama. From a 2d Amendment perspective? All three are the same.
I'd have to respectfully disagree with you partially, GH. I think that McCain would be the least threat to 2nd Amendment rights. If an AWB bill makes it to his desk, do I expect him to sign it? Absolutely. But I don't see him actively pursuing more gun control. I think that both Clinton and Obama will actually push for it.

I too, am voting based on pro 2nd Amendment candidates. Moreover, candidates in general that support the Constitution as in the spirit in which it was written, not just what they say, but in how they have voted. I am far more interested at this particular time, as to how the SCOTUS is going to rule in Heller vs D.C., and how this will affect future gun control laws. Their ruling is expected around June 5th.

I have complete confidence that McCain will protect our 2nd Amendment rights and that is the only reason he has my vote. After two elections deferring to the Libertarian Candidate...I will return with reservation to the Republican Candidate for the sake of the long term view no matter what that entails...ditto on the wait for SCOTUS opinion..

Agreed, and if you are in fact supporting a candidate who supports the constitution as written, you are obviously not supporting McCain, Clinton or Obama.
Cluseo and M14, I think you are both being naive. McCain has already demonstrated with McCain-Feingold that he is not interested in our rights, and Presidents don't write legislation, they sign it or veto it.
Who I want to support with my vote for the POTUS, Ron Paul, and who I may have to vote for based on who actually has a chance of winning, is John McCain. I am very torn about this decision. I will not vote for either of the two Democratic front runners Clinton, or Obama.
