"Goldsmith accused US officials of censorship.

"Everyone who manages a blog, Facebook or Myspace out of Iraq has to register every video, picture, document of any event they do on mission," Goldsmith told AFP after the hearing.

"You're almost always denied before you are allowed to send them home."

Loose lips sink ships dumbass.

Where the MNPs when this assclown testified?

I'd put his ass on a plane to BIAP, have him pull his extra duty there.

I realize there are folks with problems arising from their experiences in Iraq; this fucker just wants his 15 minutes of white trash fame, that's all.

He has taken the Army's money and has re-enlisted (probably with a big no tax bonus in theater) but now he doesn't want to go? It used to be that deserters could be shot; maybe this would be a good time to dust off those old traditions...

I'm sorry, I couldn't get any further than this:

[Matthis Chiroux is the kind of young American US military recruiters love.
"I was from a poor, white family from the south, and I did badly in school," the now 24-year-old told AFP.]

The first sentence in the article is what blows me away. I know recruiters need to make their numbers, but are they really that in love with recruits that might be at the lower end of the spectrum when it comes to education and aptitude scores?

As for Chiroux, it states that he joined the Army almost 6 years ago, and has served in Afghanistan and other parts of the world. How long was his original enlistment for? I suppose he could have signed on for more than 4 years, but it's highly doubtful.

Which means he re-upped at some point after we had been engaged in Iraq for several years, and had to know a deployment to the region was a distinct possibility.

Something doesn't smell right about his story. It has the feel of somebody who made a decision to stay in hoping for the possibility that he would get orders, for the sole purpose of making a political statement by refusing to deploy.

If this NCO has not served in Iraq then how can he claim he knows anything about this place? I would like to know what about the war he considers illegal and unconstitutional.

The first thing that would go would be those SGT's stripes- I relieved and reduced a fuckwad like this in OIF 1 for refusing to search cars with his troops.

Rather than do an ART 15 we held a reduction board consisting of the 1SGs , me and a commissioned officer (prior enlisted; not required but it s technique :D). he was given, by regs, 15 days to prepare his defense. No JAG involved because its administrative. Took all of 5 minutes to listen to him, excuse him ,vote, and render a decision and send him on his way as a SPC.

BTW, if you're wondering why this technique; if you are reduced for 'inefficiency' you SERVE OUT THE REST OF YOUR ENLISTMENT whether you go past the RCP for that grade or not, even if the reduction puts you past your RCP in your 'new' grade.:eek:

You fuck with the bull, you get the horn!

Just sayin'

Good for him for refusing to obey orders.

HAHA... no, I'm just kidding. :D
Fuck this guy.
He re-upped during the Iraq war... and had the balls to complain about being ordered to Iraq???
Did he not see it as a possibility?
And speaking of dumb white trash...
WTF is wrong with the idiot who doesn't understand basic OPSEC.Goldsmith accused US officials of censorship.

"Everyone who manages a blog, Facebook or Myspace out of Iraq has to register every video, picture, document of any event they do on mission," Goldsmith told AFP after the hearing.
I can't believe he was complaining that he wasn't allowed to post pictures of missions on the internet. Goldsmith said he had "self-medicated" for several months to treat the wounds of the war. Ahhhh... now I understand.
Crack.

My question is this: If the kid thinks he's sooo smart and that he could see the fact that "the military only wants the poor and ignorant", why the fuck didn't he do better in school so he could get into college and not have to "resort to the military"? He's a fucking coward.

Matthis Chiroux cried. Oh, how touching. What a sensitive young pansie.:mad: How did this candy ass ever make Sergeant?

He needs to take up residence in Leavenworth.

The other idiot, Goldsmith, must think that war is a a computor game. Hasn't he heard of OPSEC?

My recruiter must have hated me then. I was white, middle class, and had three years of college:rolleyes: Not to mention I walked in and said, "I want a Ranger contract and that is all I'll take". Ya, he had a real hard sale:rolleyes: Fuck this guy! And RGR M, way to go!

This guy is a fuckstick of the lowest order and let's face it, until the system gets tough and nails these guys properly we are bound to see more. I would also venture to guess as did many astute personnel here that he probably re-enlisted at some point and got a bonus, not to mention the GI Bill. I would yank the benefits carpet from underneath his ass.

No one has forced any of these turd burglars to enlist or re-enlist. Life is full of choices you make them and you live with them.

Dishonorable discharge, no benefits...wait......deserter in a time of war? Not worth all the paperwork, one bullet and end it.

This guy was a photo journalist for the Army. I agree that he may be looking for his 15 minutes. Wrong way to go about it. He needs to be made an example of so that others don't try this nonsense. I say he's a flight risk, he's already refused to live up to one responsibility. Pretrial confinement should be in order.

Negative, anti tank mine on the drivers seat, put him on it, let him drive around Baghdad looking for IED's. FBCB2 so we can track him, Upon completion of a 4 year term he can go back to the regular army and finish his time as a camera man if he finds the route clearance to be less than to his liking.

I say we give him a new job as Ambassador at Large, responsible for negotiating a peace agreement with those poor mis-understood freedom fighters throughout the Middle East, alone, dressed in a t-shirt festooned with Danish cartoons.

I saw this story as well and actuall read some of the comments that were posted. I noticed that there were some people who left a comment that called this ass clown "a courageous hero", because he stood up to the man.

To me, if he was so courageous as it was posted, wouldn't he be with his unit? I'm just sayin'.

I'm veering out of my lane just long enough to point out how articulate this "po white trash who did badly in school" sounded in his quotes. "I stand before you today with the strength and clarity and resolve to declare to the military, my government and the world that this soldier will not be deploying to Iraq,"

"My decision is based on my desire to no longer continue violating my core values to support an illegal and unconstitutional occupation... I refuse to participate in the Iraq occupation,"

Someone is writing this boy's copy. I am guessing he's getting support and being egged on by an anti-war group. "Okay Dicksmack, here's your lines. Memorize these."

It reminds me of when then-Denver Nugget Machmud Abdul Rauf (nee Chris Jackson) refused to stand for the National Anthem because he couldn't honor a country of tyranny. When asked what "tyranny" meant, he had to admit he didn't know.

The faces look pretty familiar. I watched these asshats on CSPAN in front of the "Congressional Progressive Caucus." These guys are all involved in IVAW and when they're not being babied by wacko lefties they're at the National Archives waving the flag upside down.

I recall not to long ago one of the poster children for the IVAW was proven to be a fraud. He was even able to con the VA and was recieving benefits for PTSD. The little shit never served. Problem is the nutbags embrace anyone who agree's with their agenda without checking the facts.

IVAW has about as much credibility as Britney Spears does on parenting.
