It's a very effective pattern for the Pacific Rim Theatre. Much better than our Woodland pattern, which doesnt work outside of the area around Ft. Benning...

As far as i know australia only has DCPU. I think this is because it is so versatile.. About the only place that it isn't used by aussies is in arctic warfare.

The Aussies also have 3-color desert pattern. It is a bit smaller than ours tho. Several years ago I worked with a Australian unit and they showed up in Kuwait with three color uniforms only they weren'y DCUs. They were cut in the Australian style. I was thinking cool, these guys are really squared away. They want to mitigate the danger of fratricide. Alas, I asked one of them and they told me they were used as OPFOR uniforms in Australia!!!

That's funny.. Canada has a desert version of our mono-color combats, but they also only get used for OPFOR forces (I wonder how much sand brown sticks out in a Canadian woodland?) and never - as far as I know - overseas. Must be a Commonwealth thing...
