"We will not allow Iraq to become a platform for harming the security of Iran and neighbours," Iranian state-run media quoted Mr Maliki as saying after late-night talks with Manouchehr Mottaki.

As I read this i found my self thinking who does this guy think he is? He cannot control the militia's, the IA, the IP. He is failing as a leader, yet he makes statements like this. I'd prefer to see him start uniting the Iraqi's to work in some positive direction in their own country and do less appeasing the Iranians.

The role of the US in Iraq is high on the agenda, with Tehran concerned about a treaty under discussion on the terms of the US military's future in Iraq.

Tehran has a say?

Government sources say Iraqi security officials with the delegation will be showing the Iranians evidence of their alleged support for the militias, the BBC's Jim Muir in Baghdad reports.

Iran has always denied any involvement, but officials say Mr Maliki will once again urge Tehran to support the Baghdad government and stop secretly backing militias.

So, we know you're shitheads, we have evidence, but we wont let America come get you?

Sure....

I don't think the American people would support another war, the Soldiers need a break, the family's need a break and the economy needs a break. The bottom line is, if those factors changed and the call came down tomorrow, I would be living in a dirty mall in Iran, no matter what old Maliki thought about it.

Putty,

What this article shows is the Muslim resolve in following their theopolitical lifestyle. Its OK for them to kill each other, just don't you infidels kill us. It was a similar situation sitting on the Border of Iraq with the Syrians in the early 90's. When Israel threatened to invade Iraq and stop the scud missile attacks, All the other Arab nations would then grumble and plan to HELP Iraq against Israel. The very country they were poised to attack. Don't go looking for logic in all of this. I have just started reading the Quran to try and better understand some of the philosophies and what appear to be skewed views on right and wrong.

Its just Arab political posturing. Besides they are just as worried about a Democrat win in Nov as the rest of us. We punch out (I don't think we will even if BO wins) and Iran becomes the dominant player in this neck of the sandbox.

We should have dominated and made Iraq another territory of the US, used the oil and developed the country for ourselves.

Let's see....could we turn it into a vacation spot like the US Virgin Islands? Maybe they would have wanted statehood like Hawaii. Wow, that would have been interesting.

Ok....I just lost it for a moment. Sorry.

And there would a 7-11, Holiday Inn, an Insurance company's answering service, and a cell phone store at EVERY intersection in IRAQ!!:rolleyes:

There's already a Mcdonalds and a Kmart just south of Al Khadamiya mosque. Unfortunately I don't think they're the real deal. Seriously though. I was going to Al Sadr's uncles residence and those establishments were on the west side of the road on the way in.
