Why would a currently serving soldier not only hand out information that is usually guarded with some secrecy to anyone on the internet, and then publicise the fact that they are prepared to hand out this information?

Either you are asking to get kicked out, or you aren't really in 4RAR.

If any of you S.O.B's actually stopped to think before sprouting off at the mouth you'd realise that there is alot of info if you know where to look. As for opsec there is nothing that I can't tell that anyone with experience couldn't find out for themselves.

If you don't trust any thing I've got to say then ignore it, otherwise to coin an expression from Mr Richard Marcinko" TFB ".
You people are too sinical for your own good.

If any of you limp wrists care to know more try the following site.
http://defweb.cbr.defence.gov.au/army4cdo/

Apologies for not linking.
Give it a go. It'll be worth your while.

1) Im not a limp wrist, whatever that is. Im assuming that you are infering that 'we' "SOB's" are homosexual.

2) You said >
"If any one is keen to know more about 4 RAR (CDO)from a current serving member let
me know.This includes Weapons,Equipment, Force structure.etc."

Why? Are you attempting to be a hero? The web site you placed a link to doesnt work. If anyone had a real interest in finding out something about 4 RAR then they could do a search.

If as you put it, "there is nothing that I can't tell that anyone with experience couldn't find out for themselves."

Then why make a post like you did.

This board is full of good people, with a hell of a lot of experiance. If , you were just trying to be helpfull, then it didnt come across that way, you came across as a hero.Hero's dont last long around here.

Pull your head in.

Oh, One last thing, maybe you want to tell us your real name so we can actually confirm that you are 'a current serving member'

That covers my sentiments pretty well.

Those that have 'been there' and 'done that' don't usually feel the need to tell everyone this, so I think it is a fair bet to say that you aren't who you say you are.

Quite sad really.

First of all apologies for the link not working.
Second of all, I pose a question, How do you know there are a lot of good people with alot of experience in here? have you met them? do you know there backgrounds if they have one at all? and what makes them experienced, is it because they said so?

If in a chat room you meet someone that says they are female, how do you know. Profiles can be falsified, fake pictures used.etc.Do you see what I'm getting at here.

Thirdly,I'll give my personal details via e-mail if you're interested, So you can check my details with whoever you think you can, who is actually in a position to know my service history, who is in the unit would probably help as well.!

You may have alot of posts which signifies that you've been around alot longer than I have on socnet only. Hey xs your profile says you are Aust Military, what's your unit, corps, posting.?where do you gain your experience?

I don't expect I've heard the last of you two so here is some info you can check out that specialoperations.com can't tell you.No offence to specialoperations.com intended.

Currently 6 company's raised- logistics support coy, operations support coy, alpha coy, bravo coy, charlie and delta coys.

Due to rotate to E-Timor after 1 RAR in early april.

Bravo and Charlie coys are the only on line commando coys in the unit, Alpha and Delta are standard rifle companys raised specifically for E-Timor.

While I'm at it, what is the following supposed to prive?

"Currently 6 company's raised- logistics support coy, operations support coy, alpha coy, bravo coy, charlie and delta coys.

"Due to rotate to E-Timor after 1 RAR in early april."

All that proves is you are capable of reading what is in the Army magazine, which isn't that big a deal really.

To xs, the information on the current make up of the battalion has never appeared in the army newspaper!! Only someone who is either in the unit or has recntly discharged or posted from the unit would know this info.

perhaps I am a gob but that is only your opinion. As for pulling my head in, I'll gladly do it if you can prove that you are who and what you say you are, if not I'll continue to gob off...

You say that your background is of no importance, but it should be if you want to be recognised as someone with credibility who can lend weight to conversations and actually know what people are saying because you have experienced it yourself.
Otherwise you could be just some punk wanna be who can talk the talk but has never walked the walk.Or (this is what i believe) you could actually be in the Aust Army but are just a pogue from some obscure water bottle purchasing group trying to justify your existance from day to day to some fat warrant officer who hasn't seen his toes in the last thirty years.

YOU MAY BE A SHARK, BUT I CAN SWIM! HUNTING SHARKS IS A FAVOURITE PAST TIME OF MINE!

If you want a shot at the title bring it on!!!

If I want to gain credibility to what I say it will be because of what I say and the facts I use to support it, not because of where I say I am from. It is not for you to know.

You are not only a gob you are a pissant. If you want to impress the children this is not the place to be doing it.

ha ha ha, pissant hey thats funny...
a gob i certainly am.a pissant perhaps,,,,,
all this name calling will get you nowhere.

your reluctance to give specifics about your current occupation only goes to prove my point that any one can say anything on the net and get away with it.

only by providing credible reference checks can we ascertain our true identities.
your hesitation to provide even the most vague details like your corps, unit and location only strengthens my belief that you are only a pogue trying to sound tuff with what little knowledge you have.

XS
7 November 2000, 19:17
Is this supposed to bother me?

I atruggle to believe you are in the Army in the first place, so regardless of what I do it is already one up on you.

"only by providing credible reference checks can we ascertain our true identities. your hesitation to provide even the most vague details like your corps, unit and location only strengthens my belief that you are only a pogue trying to sound tuff with what little knowledge you have."

Put your money where your mouth is.

Post your details up, then. If your to much of a pissant, then email them. Otherwise, I cant be shagged wasting anymore time on you.

Your still 'trying' to be a hero but your looking more and more like a dickhead.

As for your comment "but are just a pogue from some obscure water bottle purchasing group"

ever had to survive without water bottles for any lenght of time ? I have. Id prefer that there was someone looking after the purchasing of waterbottles thanks.
While Im not a 'pouge' as you put it, ANYONE who performs their specific task, within the militay deserves respect, not insults.
The exception to the above is when they get onto boards and try really hard to be a hero. Your a dickhead. You havent taken in ANYTHING that either myself or xs have said.

Just out of interest, how long have you been in (if your actually are) and what is your rank?

While i agree withg zero alpha on the fact that anyone who does there job no matter what it is, I take offence when someone says they do a job or have experience in a field when in actual fact they don't.What I'm trying to ascertain from XS is which category he fits in to.

Now not that it matters to either of you here are my details:
Date of enlistment: 21 nov 95
Current rank: Private
Surname: Altmann

And while we're at it I'll gladly be called any name under the sun you want.Until you can prove to me that your opinions are actually worth listening to, then I'll continue to disregard "ANYTHING" you've got to say.
