I just finished reading the latest Aussie & NZ defender, they were talking a fair bit about the 'Ready Reaction Team'. i was just wondering whether anyone knew if you have to complete the sniper training to become part of the ready reaction team?

A ready reaction Team or platoon can be any company, platoon or section within a battalion. Each company can have its own ready reaction platoon or section which is organic to that company.
In other words you don't need to be a sniper or recon soldier to be in a ready reaction team. However recon and sniper cell usually work just for the CO, so if he says they are ready reaction, then thats what they are.
Ready reaction can mean anyone in the battalion who is slated to react to a situation.
Its usually someone close to fast transport eg choppers.
It could even be the cooks or the pay clerks and I've seen that happen.
It should be noted recon and sniper soldiers in RAR battalions are usually a cut above the rest.

No, they can be anyone. There is no such thing as a permanent ready reaction team within a battalion. It could be any platoon in a battalion. There is no course,no special training needed.A&NZ defender just makes it sound HOOHAA and recon platoon makes for good photos.I've got the magazine by the way.The word "Team" makes it sound SF but believe me its not.
