Anyone remember a movie, Odd Angry Shot (http://us.imdb.com/Title?0079652)?
"An Australian feature film concentrating on four soldiers from Australia's most trained and toughest army unit, the Special Air Service Regiment, sent to Vietnam for twelve months active service. Because of their
training they believe they can handle any situation with humour, but when their companions start dying, they find they can not." How realistic was it?

I heard it was pretty accurate - that from a guy that was in SASR at the time..

Its a classic movie but if you have been in the army or are in its a bit spoilt because they used a training ground to film it in.
It was made in the 70's.And is still available on video here.If you want I can see if there is a copy around.
You will be disappointed if you are looking for Private ryan.
BTW its just been released back on the big screen here I think as a salute to Australian film.
As a Aussie soldier its in my heart but I don't know how it would translate overseas. The lighting is very dark like the real jungle and its hard to see some bits,it also looked more conventional than sneeky pete to me.More like a rifle company in action. As I know it.Very Australian but.

The jungles sceans are very well done. Great exampls of how to patrol in the jungle with small and large units.

If I was instructing I would use sceans from this movie to illustrate proper form on patrol.

The action sceans were kind of anticlimatic, the M16's sounded like BB guns.
