I read somewhere that the are specialist sig units, any truth to this????
Thanks
Geoff
Depends on what you call specialist.
Sig's in itself is a specialist organisation. All they do is handle communications. Sounds specialist to me! Then to think of all the sub-units and squadrons within Sigs...
The mind boggles!
Other than that, you have asked a very vaigue question.

This is Special Operations Website guys! I reckon Geoff is reffering to things like the 126th Signals Squadron... I'd love to know more about them since I am looking at joining the Reserves in near future. All I think I know is from this website and the 1 CDO Coy leaflet (that is the 126 CDO are part of the 1st Commando Regiment and are based somewhere in Melbourne along with the 2nd Commando Company).
I would also like to know how the SASR and also the 4RAR(CDO)'s handles Signals?

Thanks Rob info like that.
Info like what? If you want your question answered you could at least help us a little!
As for Rob's question, 152 Sqn handle the SASR's signals, and 126 Coy handles 1 Cdo's signals. Don't know what 4 have though...prolly just something attached to suppt coy.
That really is a vaigue question! Sigs is full of specialised units.
