I saw in your other post that you carry the Timberline...its a very nice blade.

I just never carry it in the field cause its blade is so straight. I never managed to chop through something with it without damaging my wrist or palm. Im not much of a "geometric-tanto" fan. Do you experience the same?

On the other hand, the knife is totally indestructible and the best pry-bar ive ever seen. Used it to crack frozen lids and it wasnt even scratched. Its probably a great weapon as well, i could imagine you can jam it straight up someones skull http://www.specialoperations.com/ubboard/smile.gif

Oh well. Im just curious what moves you to carry it on a daily basis.

Take care,

Veil, durability is what I look for in any piece of gear. Out of all the production blades available it had everything I wanted. 1. An almost 1/4" thick blade to the tip (Why I like Tanto's)
2. "Psuedo" Sub-Hilt design-very secure in hand.
3.Full tang with a handle that fit my hand well. Synthetic (Not too hot/cold) w/lanyard.
4. Good steel, easy to sharpen.
5. Tanto design best for penetration of web gear. (Not likely, but I AM Military)
6. Kydex for Airborne Operations.
7. Modular sheath w/leg straps for SCUBA, which I do also. (No surprise, it was a participant in the SEAL trials).
8. Black.

I've used it constucting hide sites and clearing fields of fire/observation. I havn't hurt my hands yet. The only negatives would be that the TiCarbonNitride coating still sucks (My delica rusted with it too), and the nylon that folds over the bottom of the sheath gets abraded sitting on aircraft floors. Tuf-Cloth and Shoe-Goo fix's that. I'm happy with it.
