Watching the History Channel right now. Its a an episode with several different "shooters". One is Byron Ferguson. Ive seen him shoot a few times before and he always impresses the hell out of me. He can hit balloon at hundreds of yards, 6" disks at dozens of yards, put a round thru a wedding ring, and hit a lifesaver his wife is throwing up in the air. Not impressed ? He's doing it with a English longbow !!!
Then Jerry Miculick was shown on a range. He showed muscle memory shots, firing at targets blindfolded after seeing them from a known distance. Fire 6 shots, reload and fire another 6 shots, blindfolded. Hit with every shot from memory. They showed a clip of his world record done in 1999. Fired 6 rounds at a target reloaded and fired 6 rounds in 2.99 seconds.
Next comes Snipers at Ft Benning. SSgt Doolittle is profiled as an instructor. Teaching on the stalking range. Next was SSgts St John and Johnson, 3/75, showing 1000 yard shots. These guys put 7/7 rounds on the target. Amazing shooting.
Bill Oglesby is next. Doing quickdraw shooting and trick shooting. Shooting a rope on a hangmans noose.
Some amazing shooting.

And with a revolver. Granted, a highly customized/modified one...but he still has to reload into a cylinder.

I saw the same show a while back. I was very impressed with the marksmanship I saw.
I saw a different one on the History Channel about Exibition Shooters in History.
Amazing shots.....
One guy in the 1950's shooting 8 hand thrown clay pidgens with a pump shotgun.
A modern Bennelli sponsored shooter hitting Asprin thrown in the air with .22. That made hitting a coin thrown in the air look like a piece of cake.

Saw that one too. Maybe it was a series:confused:? Anyway, it was awesome programing.

Tom Knapp beat that record. I believe he hit 9 with a pump shotgun. He also holds the record for hitting 10 with his semi-auto before they hit the ground.
He is by far my favorite shooter. He is also the guy that that someone mentioned shooting an asprin in the air with his .22. He can also throw a washer into the air, and shoot his .22 through the hole in it, without hitting the washer! He can also pump out the empty cartridge from his shotgun, and then shoot it in the air like a target.

Saw this show a month or so ago.... I was very very impressed... With the cost of ammo, it is good to have a sponsor, I must say..

All these guys are fantastic. And yes corp sponsor for ammo helps.
Of particular interest is Jerry. A friend of mine from OSU has shot at events and with him at several events on male/female events. She constantly sings his praises. She states he constantly has words of encouragement and technique tips to anyone who asks. A true statesman for the sport shooting world.

That guy is amazing. It is incredible what he can do with a shotgun.

I just watched this again recently, and it looked like the rifle they were firing was an M24A2. I didn't think the Army was going to bother with the A2 or A3 rifles?
I didn't notice if it was "-A anything," but it was definitely an M24...they said it was chambered for .338. I thought the m24 was a .308, so I just assumed it was an A2 or something...
Edited to add: Just did a bit of research, and with the 10 round box mag, and being chambered in .338, it is an M24A3, if my google-fu is bringing me accurate results.

They said it was chambered for .338? That sounds like the A3, unless their narration writer was wrong. I know SOCOM was looking for a .338 replacement for the Mk13, but I didn't think any bidding had started on that.
They said it was a .33 magnum, if I'm not mistaken, which to me suggests someone's bad interpretation of .338 Lapua magnum. I'm not personally familiar with any other .33 Magnum in common usage.

Whoa how many shots did he have to shoot to get to that level of profieciency?
Whats the name of this particular program and is it available on dvd? I'd like to purchase a copy. As an asides, what shells was he using in the Benelli shotgun? :)

Federal. In the clip where he sets the world record he mentions his Benelli shotgun, Federal shells, and Champion clay pigeons.
Great show! It was interesting to see them revisit some great shooters accomplishments.

They said that Jerry did that record string with a stock revolver.
The A3 is the .338LM. The huge magazine sticking out of the bottom queued my interest even though the sound was muted.
