Today during my adventures, I came across some Iraqi Army guys who appeared to be wearing Airborne wings over the right breast pocket. I have attempted to sort this out on Google with no joy. Can anyone explain what they are? Are they Airborne wings, or are they something else and if so what do they signify?

I've seen a few here in the IZ as well and I am convinced that they are the iraqi version of "Posers". :D

From the looks of the 300 pounder I saw sporting them today I would have to say your right on!!!
Ive spoken with some IA that wear them. The ones I talked to mentioned having been Airborne in Saddam's Army. I find as a general rule they wear what ever the hell they want though.

I was on a MiTT 06-07. We had an IA 1SG who wore them. I asked him about it and he said he "jumped from a big tree.", Needless to say, this brought about much laughter.

Not Airborne, I asked an Iraqi in the IZ a while back and he looked at me like I was crazy. It is mostly a neat symbol.
There is only one Iraqi Special Forces unit that I am aware of, ICTF.
Very hard Dudes, I know.
