Try beer. It's pretty good, especially compared to Budweiser.

Echoes the sentiments made by the majority in this thread.

Bud is good for only two things: a headache in the morning and beer farts.

Concur. No tears lost here. If I have the choice between a bud or a flavorful microbrew, there is no debate. People are looking at this from the perspective of "foreign companies are buying our heritage". I see the other side of the coin where there are a substantial amount of microbreweries who are innovative and brewing quality beers better and better every year all over the USA. They won't change the recipe for bud, and most people will forget about this in a year. All I know is that Bud is pushing the psyops piece hard here on the All Star game tonight...commerical after commercial.

Bingo.
My German friends call it Budwasser.
I'm sure you Deutsch sprechende leute can get that.

When I'm being social at a bar, but don't really want to get drunk... then I'll have a budweiser.

I guess I will have to go back to drinking Fat Tire or NewCastle...I will concede that there are alot of beers out there better than Bud Light, I hate Budweiser with a passion, porkchop in a can.

Real beer (not entire list ;) ):

Guinness! (nectar of God)
Harp
Newcastle
Blue Moon
Sam Adams
Hofbrau
Hoegaarden
Shock Top
Flying Fish
Bass
Otter Creek
Smithwick's
Young's
Warsteiner

Maybe the Belgians, the people who brought us the great white ale, will be able to actually start insisting that Busch start making beer and join the list...

I know its not American.. but my beer of choice is usually Labatt Blue Light. I could never drink Bud at all. :S Bud Light I drank for a while, but somehow started drinking LBL all the time and that's all I buy now. I drank a lot of Labatt Blue maybe that's how it started?

Amen to Beamish. Four Peaks Brewery here in Tempe has several excellent beers. My fav is Kiltlifter, close second is their Wiessen. All seem exceptional, except there oatmeal stout.

Seriously, this isn't all that new as consolidation in the beverage industry has been happening for a while, and even though I've never quite understood the business model of a global beverage giant, I'm pretty sure it won't change my drinking behavior at all.

The Alaska Brewing Company puts out some excellent beer. Their Winter Ale is one of the better beers I've had. I'd get it shipped out to me by the case if it wasn't so damn expensive.

That being said, nothing beats a Guinness.

I guess the best way to describe it is to say that it tastes like the ingredients were roasted a little longer, making it a little more rich and smooth than a Guinness. Excellent with a Delmonico steak!:D
