Leatherman Supertool for all around use.
SAK for the tweezers and scissors that the Leatherman lacks, but are sometimes neccesary. As far as just a bladed knife, I normally carry my Benchmade CQC7.

Kabar was the one thing I carried from 71-99, same blade retired it with a MKII Navy case and day/night flare of course. Bought the knife for $7.50 and it is the only thing I still have that went with me the whole time.
Outside of a Super Leatherman (which I might reaplace with a Wave) I am a Benchmade poster boy with a AFCK when dressed down and Nimravus when kitted out.

Sounds like the Leathermen's have a big following. Throw me in on that. Used to carry the old Letherman that had the blasting cap crimper, where the cutter normally is. God knows where it is now. Haven't been able to find another, so now it's the super leathermen.
Fighting knife...Militac by Vesace. NO, not the clothes designer. Custom knife maker out of Mississippi. 3 different designs and a hell of a knife.

SOG Teck 7" blade kyndex sheath
Anyone here uses/carries a kukris in the field? How are they?
I havent carried the Kukri on duty, since they'd probably courtmarshall my ass for it http://www.specialoperations.com/ubboard/smile.gif but i have carried the Cold Steel wideblade kukri model around on various occasions. It's a great piece of equipment, altough it requires alot of maintainance. The only problem is that it's a bit unwieldy and hard to find a good spot on your webbing to carry it. I hung it from my ruck, but it was hard to draw in that position.

I carry a small SAK in my pocket and a Gerber Gator on my belt. I would rather use my e-tool than a really big and heavy knife for combat.

I CARRY A BUSSE #7 IN A DROP THIGH KIDEX RIG.I LOVE THIS KNIFE ITS EASY TO OBTAIN A GOOD EDGE AND I CAN HACK,CHOP,DIG OR DO WHAT EVER I NEED TO DO WITH NO FEAR OF BENDING OR BREAKING. I USED THIS KNIFE TO PRY OPEN A DOOR AND NO DAMAGE TO THE KNIFE BUT YOU SHOULD HAVE SEEN THE DOOR.ALSO THE SHEATH IS FORM MOLDED TO THE KNIFE SO IF THE SNAP ON THE RETENTION STRAP POPS OPEN YOU WONT LOOSE THE KNIFE. ALSO ITS BIG ENOUGH TO TAPE A MK13 MOD 0 DAY NIGHT FLARE TO IT. CHECK OUT WWW.BUSSEKNIVES.COM (http://WWW.BUSSEKNIVES.COM)

I ALSO USE BUSSE AND LOVE IT ...
ZeroG: I used to carry a Made-in-India (read that "crappy imitation, not genuine article") imitation khukuri as a combination machete/hatchet. Good for chopping roots when digging a hide or cache site, and I once felled a 6"-trunked cedar tree in about 5 minutes with one (it was the sole obstruction on a very small LZ!). During the mid-1980's these blades (again, strictly as a machete/hatchet substitute) were de rigeur with certain members of my unit (as were Portuguese ponchos and scrim scarves, as well as German boots. I was the first in the company with these three items!).
My "main" blade however was a Gerber Mk.II.

M-9 Bayonet and Fairbairn-Sikes, for myself.
Sometimes I'll use a generic boot/belt knife that I bought outta USCAV for $25. It's cheap, but reasonably effective.
Read your 21-150, and know how to use them.

In my opinion, the money you spend versus the quality you get, you will get more for your money with a Benchmade than with any other knife that I have found. I have a couple of custom knives that are quite expensive but they do not outperform my CQC7 or my other Benchmades.

I carry a Leatherman Wave. The Gerber is Canadian Army Issue and I used to carry it but the blades aren't that good. What I don't like about the leatherman is how the hinges work but other then that its good. I've got a 6' Buck Knife but I'm looking to upgrade to a black K-Bar.

In Civvies, Original Leatherman (its a sentimental thing), and a spyderco Native / Endura. In uniform (way back when), Leatherman on belt, Spyderco Endura clipped into BDU pocket & generic boot knife concealed in B/R vest under my off-side armpit.
The spyderco native is an EXCELLENT knife. I bought one (serrated, poly grip) to replace my (a bit heavy) Pro Venator for civvie carry and i love it. Great design.
I reccomend you all pick it up if you want a lightweight quality civvie knife.

I carry a 10" Ginsu in the inverted position on the web gear, and a 6" Ginsu in the missionary position in my boot. I also carry my bamboo steamer and chopsticks in my rucksack. I got them all for $19.95 plus shipping and handling. They also included a free hibatchi and 12 Omaha Fillet Mignon (6oz.) The hibatchi is too heavy to lug, and my dog ate the steaks. One more thing I always carry my American Express card in my bug out pocket, along with some C4 (for those places that don't accept the card.

A Cold Steel Recon Tanto on a Eagle's drop leg sheath, a Spyderco Endura and a Victorinox knife(Adventurer model) for my E&E kit. I would like to buy a Randall or a Busse knife. If any of you own a Randall or a Busse, I would like to have your comments.

That seems a lot, but every knife has its purpose.

Well when I was in the Army I bought a Al Mar Knives SERE IV knife for personal use and ended up using a Spyderco Clipit and a personal M-9 Bayonet. My Marine uncle liked the knife so I sold it to him for about half the price I paid for it. I regret selling the knife because Al Mar died and the knife might be worth something now.

I have had a Randall Model 15 [with saw teeth] for about eight years. This knife is great, it takes all kinds of abuse and still retains its value. If you can't afford a Randall, a K-bar will do [Note: a Randall lasts a lifetime, a K-bar will last a few years at best].
The Randall along with a decent swiss army knife is all I would ever need.

Pat Cascio fixed on left thigh, CRKT Desert Cruiser folder right pocket (yes, it's big and heavy), Cold Steel Safemaker II push dagger inverted on vest, Swiss Army Harvester in pouch.
If I'm humpin', and weight is an issue, the Ka-Bar Shorty is a great, all-around knife to carry. Cheap and useful.
If you're going to get a folder, get a good one. It doesn't need to be $400, but like the man said before, you get what you paid for...
