Hey all,
I have recently arrived in La Paz, after being cut off from any news for about 3 weeks (Trekking in Peru).

The place is a mess, lots of demonstrations in the streets and ¨Fuerra Yanquees¨signs.
My Spanish isn´t that good but I think the American embassador was thrown out of Bolivia and that maybe Venezuela had something to do with the whole thing.
I´ll check CNN, etc. for more details but I´d appreciate any take you might have on the situation.
Peace out.

The provinces in the east decided they wanted some autonomy. It had stuck relatively peaceful, but over the last few days there was some kind of skirmish in Pando Province that resulted in the government declaring martial law in the province and arresting the governor. The other opposition provinces have withdrawn from talks with the government. Looks like it could turn nasty.

Gracias para la informacion:cool:

It seems the roads to Rura Nabaca (the jungles north of La Paz) are blocked, and I think the Bol. govt. lost some airfields there because there are no flights as well.

Anyway, if any shit starts I´m taking the side of the police / govt. forces as they seem to be better armed:D

Besides, angry mobs are unpredictable and I might be mistaken for a gringo.
