LIFE magazine has teamed up with Google to release more than 2 million photos taken since the 1750’s.
Really nice since all pictures are HiRes...

Looking at these pictures reminds of when I was in pre-Ranger course in NC. 3 days of no sleep, on a movment to our patrol base, I thought I saw civil war soldier...we took a knee for a short halt and there he was, laying against a tree, hat pulled forward over his head with his musket leaning on his shoulder...
Anything like this happen to any of you guys down south while getting your bags smoked in the field??
I guess I was a lil loco that night, either way I got my go :)

Actually, the fault's not yours. The link itself says:
"Search millions of photographs from the LIFE photo archive, stretching from the 1750s to today. Most were never published and are now available for the first time through the joint work of LIFE and Google."
Go figure.

I don't think so; even though the concept was discovered in 1724, daguerreotypes didn't come into use until 1839...
