View Full Version : Commercial diving education in Norway/UK?

OK, gentlemen!

Ever since the "Commercial diving and LE" thread I've been scouring the Net for info on norwegian and brittish education opportunities. So far luck has been scarce, to say the least! I'm up and down on DiveWeb every day, my search engines all burned out and I'm in tears from the frustration.

Please, help me if you can! I don't even quite know what I'm looking for. US institutions are exceedingly good at profiling themselves, whereas UK ditto's aren't. I found a norwegian governmental agency but...that's it!

Try brit diving companies themselves. Thats a start then email questions to them. Some may have an entry level program.

Not sure if they still do foriegn schools, but I think Ocean Corporation could help you.

I've been in touch with The Ocean Corporation and recieved their catalog. It sure seems truly great, their UDT program really makes my mouth water! But am I understanding this correct, that they could perhaps help me get in contact with UK or norwegian agencies?

Hi Linus,

I'd give them a call and talk to one of their training officers (not just the switchboard operator). They can probably get you connected. I know a guy who used to work for them (haven't talked to him in several years) and I know he worked with darned near everyone.

I'll do some checking here stateside and see what I can dig up. Hope this helps.
