View Full Version : Divator MKII mask
Hi all,
Well, I posted this on the wrong forum, so here we go again: Just wondering if anyone has any comments (good/bad/neutral) on the U.S. Divers Divator MKII full face mask. I don't have any experience with this particular rig, and so am looking for opinions.
Thanks in advance.

I've used it a bit.
You need to be relatively close to whomever you are talking to for any type of clarity, otherwise is pretty hard to understand.
While using them, we found that hand and arm signals worked better for most communication. We use the Cave Divers standard signals; there are just more signals for more communication needs.
If something was that important, we just wrote it down on a slate.
With a good dive plan, most commo is unneccesary if you know why you're underwater and you work well with your dive buddy(ies).
This is coming from a Underwater Search and Rescue point of view.
Other reasons for being underwater may have more of a use for devices like this.
Just my opinion.

Thanks guys.
I wasn't aware about the true origin of the mask. I had a chance to pick one up (supposedly NIB) for $150.00 but didn't have any experience with that particular mod. Now I know.
Take care and be safe.
