This sucks. So do I have warranty/service plan still? My CC credit card paid off automatically? A rebate on my LCD since the price was fixed? FUCK NO! These dipshits are exonerated and off they go to the Bahamas to sleep in the sun with JFK and Elvis....

There will be more to follow.
Maybe you won't be out of luck:
"If the warranty is from manufacturer, they should be fine," said Jack Gillis, director of public affairs for the Consumer Federation of America. "You will need a proof of purchase, like an original receipt, but if they have a service contract from the company then they may be out luck."
However, the company reported it wasn't changing it Circuit City Advantage Protection Plan. The plans have been backed by third-party independent companies for more than 15 years and will not be impacted by Circuit City’s liquidation.

This hits us personally, my Stepson Jason (ex Navy) works at Circuit City here in Greenville SC. Oh well, life goes on. I told him things happen for a reason - even when it sucks. :frown:

I worked for CC in the mid eighties. I managed several stores in the Atlanta market. It was a great place to work. Salespeople could make over a 100K. Managers even more. CC started going down hill then they took all the salespeople off commission and reduced salaries of management. All of the good people left and they hired hourly folks after that. CC has been going out of business ever since. I'm suprised it took this long.

Jason was the lead guy in TV's. In the last 4 months they changed so that it was the ONLY dept in all the stores that could get comission - from Manufacturers, not the store. They had a house cleaning of people who's numbers were in the crapper in that dept and only kept the ones with the high numbers... Jay was the highest, even over his Manager. Up until now he had complained (justly so) that other companies paid comissions and that if he was able to get even a small comission his pay would rocket up... It did. He was just starting to do very good... sad. Lots of people hitting the unemployment line.

Get your big screen TV's at CC. They may have a big sale coming up in time for the Super Bowl.

I'd check into HHGregg. They deal. They knocked off $100 from the Dyson we bought and two buddies of mine got deals on their TV's. One had $300 taken off and one got a blue ray player thrown into to keep him from walking out.

I heard the same thing on the noon business report today. The analyst pointed in the same direction that you did. I've been in sales, marketing and engineering for forty years and can tell you numerous stories about management thinking they can save money by cutting commissions and salaries. It never turns out for the better. Continuity in a sales staff is irreplaceable as long as they are producing.
