what is the difference between military and civ. schools

What do you mean civilian schools? Military schools train to use diving as a means of penetration... I'm not sure what civvi schools do. Probably just teach you how to dive.

Civilian school are for recreational diving instruction. Law Enforcement diving is for LE personnel involved in law enforcement activities (search and recovery, SWAT, evidence collection, etc). Military diving teaches combat diving.

Civ school teaches you to dive with in the bounds of the USN Dive charts and to be safe.
