Do most spec ops do most operators wear BDU's ,Flight suits or jump suits.
hi Kodiakrush;
It depends on the operation, BDU's and sage colored flight suits are used. If it's a CQB only the flight suit will usually be worn if the operation involves infil/exfil BDUs in the appropriate camo will be. The sage flight suit is allso very good for night use the color blends in much better than darker colors.
Take care...Jim

Ok,
I'll be honest, the only reason I wear a flight suit on a HALO blast is so I can wear a T-shirt and shorts underneath. Other than that and the Nomex characteristics a flight suit is worthless...

Rak,
How many HALO teams or SOT teams have you been on?. I've yet to see the black pile jump suit or a gortex jump suit. As for assaulters wearing flight suits in CQB, thats old news...

As I re-read my post I would like to amend that I'm not trying to come across as an asshole rather just trying to provide accurate information.

I'd be interested in hearing about the gore-tex jump suit.

In between all the grenade lobbing my two cents. I'm not a shooter and i don't play one on TV. I've worn flight suits for 22 years in more Herks than you can count, and shot with a lot of teams blah blah. Ever kneel on a zipper? Ever get your crotch in a knot? Ever have the velcro waist tabs grab something when you are trying to be stealthy? I see all these teams use these things. What is the point? With all the go gear why are people wearing this? I'd say Catherine Zeta-Jones had the answer in Entrapment but don' bet you'll be a hit in one of her outfits. Someone figure it out, there is a lot of money to be made.

Kingbird87,
I never wanted to be yarn so bad until I saw that movie =-) Your post begs a new question (aside from AircrewBDU's gear guru) what would be the best uniform for room clearing/CQB, and or whatever else anyone cares to say (its a free country, thanks to you guys =-)

Gore-tex/supplex jumpsuits are being worn here in the Pacific Northwest by police K9 handlers. They are more durable than regular uniforms and keep the handler dry when tracking through everything that is wet.
The suits can be had with zip off sleeves for the summer. www.bratwear.com (http://www.bratwear.com) (I think that is the correct site)
Also, check out www.flightsuits.com (http://www.flightsuits.com) and look at their 2-piece nomex assault suit.
Should be good for entries, minus the sewn- in creases in the pants.
