Cambrian Patrol

Anybody putting together a team for the Cambrian Patrol in Nov? We're just doing up the paperwork right now.

My unit is putting together a team(L EDMN R). We haven't begun training for it yet, but we have some guys that were on it two years ago and did very well, (Bronze I believe).
Our budget is approved and everything, we are planing some good build up training for it this summer and next fall.
Anyone here been on one? I will most likely be on the patrol and I'd like some good training ideas. I've heard the major weakness in teams was the patrol orders and the first aid.

Can you send me details on how you went about getting your CP proposal through? Mainly budget info. Need to convince our hq that other units are doing this.

Swiss Raid Commando is the special forces / recce type event. Last event they had a site going live during the competition at www.military.ch/SRC/. (http://www.military.ch/SRC/.) We had a spot but were quashed by the unit. Next year for the 2001 we'll try again by putting in a combined team with a couple of 1SF guys from Ft. Lewis. I don't think anyone has actually beat the Swiss teams yet, top yank team finished 25th, brits 41st. Check the results on the site if ther're still up.

In case anyone is interested in the jump course, one of our top guys just got back from his basic para. In his own words: "One recommendation, DON'T DO IT!!!. Jumpin is cool, but the DEATH COCK leading up to it SUCKS"

Thanks TonyM. Probably won't be there this year, the unit doesn't have any such plans as far as I know, but I'll see if anyone is interested, and might put a proposal up the chain of command.

As to jump... thanks for the advice... but I'm one of those people who have the idea of going to the crse so entrenched in my mind that I'll probably go regardless of the COCK I get http://www.specialoperations.com/ubboard/smile.gif
