Anyone know about him and who he is? I looked at some history on him and he appears to be a former CIA director (?) or personnel of some sort who worked for several Presidents including Reagan and Bush '41. I also read where he accused Bush of war crimes and thought the Sept. 11 attacks were an inside job.
I'd like to hear if someone has a straight scoop on him and who he is.

Philmore,

Not sure what you're looking for beyond what a typical Web search would get you.

Thanks - no anomosity intended in my prior post. I thought he was jerking my chain good natured like!
Anyway, I dug up what I could find and personally was not too impressed.
Situation: My brother and I were always close until this past election cycle when he veered off to the left, hard. McGovern, he thinks, is a credible source for info on the war in Iraq and Afghanistan.
What I have seen of him and read made him out to be more of a loon or some elitest publicity hound. I've read some stuff my brother gave me and it just didn't set right with me, so I started looking for more info.
If the Wiki info and google sites are whats out there, then mission accomplished.
Thanks!

McGovern was a soviet analyst and worked as a briefer for the congress and the president.

After he retired he turned into a complete nutcase 9/11 truther. Don’t get overly impressed with his CIA credentials he is no more (or less) believable then a college professor.

Philmore,

I think if you posted your original question like your reply to me, it would have gone smoother. Now that folks understand the background a little, maybe you will get better informed responses, like the one from justajundy.

This jack ass (like McGovern) is also a 9/11 truther and now uses his service to sell his crack pot ideas.

Thanks for the input. I shoulda clarified what I was after initially but this is what I was suspecting. Someone like this or even like Gen. Wesley Clark for example, can have the impressive resume and service record but still be as you said, a jackass or at the least misguided. I didn't want to make a judgement without gathering more input and making sure I was not missing something.

I appreciate the info.
