My Dad sent this to me tonight and asked me if I knew anything about this 'treaty' and if I could verify the points he made.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BEZszGJHbK4&feature=player_embedded
I don't have the G2 on this subject (I wish I had) so I ask the knowledge base here.....
Can what he says be verified as true?
Thanks.

Can’t speak to his “points” yet, as I’m trying to source down the treaty myself.
I will say though, that with the video editing, Lord Monckton’s flair for the dramatic, and the background music, they definitely got the FEAR....FEAR....FEAR factor down pat. Good Grief!
And the “points” he makes got me thinking more along these lines….
New World Order via Climate Treaty.
An “old wolf” in “new sheep’s” clothing perhaps??
Personally, I’m leaning towards a misinterpretation of the treaty on Lord Monckton’s part.
I suspect the conference intent is more along the lines of… To form a “Climate Government”, a “World Climate Enforcement Agency”, and levy fines and penalties on those in violation, hence the “transfer of wealth”.
Regardless, if I were the POTUS, I'd be looking for the “fine print” before I sign, just in case. ;)

the POTUS put the fine print in it.
People have been warned for years about the Cap and Trade scam - where have you been?
This is a scam that has been in the making for years - POTUS is a part of it as is the socialist democratic party - as has the Globalist like the Bushes and their new world order

I read an article in the Washington Examiner, on line, by James Simpson, this past Monday, Oct 19 regarding this topic. It goes into more detail than the short clip by Lord Monckton and quite frankly has me concerned.
I personally feel that we can't afford to be signing onto a treaty that infringes on our sovereignty in any way and I fear that this treaty might do just that.
Alot of people aren't aware of this Copenhagen conference which is scheduled to begin on December 7.
From what I have read, the President intends to sign this treaty. I wish that he would reconsider.
Perhaps some study of the issue and followup letters to representatives in congress would be in order stating our concerns, before it is too late.

'Cap and Trade' and this 'Treaty' are one in the same?
I'll look up the article in the Washington Examiner. Now I'm tracking and the pieces are coming together......
Welcome to the USSA.....

Here's a link to the treaty. It was written by Greenpeace.

That's not the actual treaty. It's a "Proposal for a Copenhagen Agreement by Members of the NGO community".
Here is a draft of the treaty:

I'm still looking for the actual treaty....:(
Maybe it's one of those 'vapor' treaties.....

As far as I understood this there is no actual new treaty just yet, there are some proposed treaties as previous posters have indicated. The Kyoto treaty runs out in 2012 and I think this conference is a big push to either enact a more stringent treaty or to at least agree to keep the Kyoto treaty intact. The website for the COP15 is in the link below.

There have been a few threads on this site relative to false claims regarding the dangers of climate change to us and our environment. Currently, there are over 650 dissenters on this whole "green" climate change theory.

I have not watch Lord Monckton (warned about the tendency for high drama), but I have read several of his articles regarding a variety of topics. Maybe he is Britian's version of Glenn Beck?
He has government credentials and years of expertise to back up his theory, thus granting him a measure of credibility.

I think there have been many international treaties signed by the United States (her representatives) that have never been ratified and/or domestic legislation brought in line with the "international treaty". US leadership, for the most part, in the past has done exactly what is in the best interests of the United States when it comes to enforcement of an international treaty. But, this administration might be hellbent on doing/giving priority to what is in the best interests of the world vice the US. Therein might lie the difference? IMO.

I'm far from an expert in this field nor can I vouch for Lord Monckton.
The article, in the Examiner, does give me pause, however and I fully agree with what you said in your last paragraph when you stated, that "this administration might be hellbent on doing/giving priority to what is in the best interests of the world vice the U.S.
I am suspect of this Presidents deference to countries other than the U.S., his apologetic attitude, when describing our past to the rest of the world, his socialist leanings and his apparent need to be revered globally.
I fear that he, combined with the democratic congress, may sign treaties and agreements on behalf of this nation that will have negative repercussions for generations to come.

you know - there are a couple brits that are on the talking circuit in the US - both have served in Parliment
I am struck by their eloquence while speaking - that is one of the things I wish or system had - open debate and spur of the moment responses to subjects presented
It can be seen in their speaking abilities (and lack of telepromters)

Understatement of the year. "this Presidents deference to countries other than the U.S., his apologetic attitude, when describing our past to the rest of the world, his socialist leanings" absolutely scares the shit out of me.
I'm just not sure which I should fear more, the POTUS, or the group behind him pulling his strings.

It is my belief, based on what I have read, that a good many of the people around this President are communists. I have my opinion as to why he picks these types of people. So as not to step outside the bounds that the rules of this forum dictate, I'll leave it at that.

Sir's, This is truly terrifying. This group ( POTUS, Cabinet as well as Czars) are steamrolling this country into something certainly different than what I grew up with. It appears that they are strategically attempting this move fast enough so we (I) won't catch on. I've read this administration is willing to become "one termers" if they can successfully capture this much of the economy. The rest they are comfortable will simply fall like domino's. Please someone tell me I'm wrong.

You're absolutely right, it is terrifying.
But there's a solution. As a citizen, you can go door to door to get the word out. Let your neighbors know about the impending Communist takeover.
In the workplace, if you notice suspicious activity on the part of your co-workers, tell your boss.
Act as the voice of the community! Remind passers-by - women, children, anyone - the communists are here, among us.
As Glenn said, WE surround them.
It's our civic duty...after all...if godless communists like John Rockafeller can build public plazas peppered with Communist iconography, who knows what could happen.

A review of many people that the President has appointed to various governmental positions will show that most are leftist and some are admitted Marxist/Leninists.
Alot of people minimize those who believe that there is an ongoing threat. They do so at their own peril and that is exactly what those who have these particular plans for our country want them to do.
Someday, those who slept, while the rug of capitalism and freedom was pulled out from under them, with smooth talk and secret behind the scenes maneuvering, will awaken to find a society in which the government controls all aspects of their lives.
I do not trust the motives of this President or the motives of the Pelosi/Reid democratic congress.

A few of these people have made troubling statements, and that is a clear indictment of the administration and democratic congress as a whole.
It's these marxists who rely on fallacy and rhetorical flourish, fear mongering and ad hominem attacks as you say, that are going to lead to the downfall of our republic.
