This guy around here wears a Scuba Bubble and Gold Wings and says he is in a reserve Recon unit just wanted to check and see if anyone knows him or has heard of him. PM me if you can help with this. He says his unit is in Tenn. When I EAS'ed the closest reserve Recon unit was in Mobile, AL. Thanks for your help!!!

The only reserve units in TN are; 1 Artillery Battery, 3 Infantry Companies, 1 Detachment from Surgical Battalion, and 1 Combat Engineer Company.

To the best of my knowledge, for reserve Recon on the East Coast; 3rd Force in Mobile and a Detachment from 4th Recon Batt in Atlanta area.

There is no Recon reserve unit in Tenn. I do know Marines travel to drill, so he may be from Tenn but travels to Mobile or San Antonio.

What this man said is correct? I wonedr if dude is walking around his unit out of uniform. It is a bad thing to do and a lot of balls if you ask me.

during the Clinton Adm and got found out and killed himself.

You are thinking of Admiral Boorda who killed himself after David Hackworth called him a fraud for wearing a V device that he hadn't earned on his Navy Achievement Medal and Navy Commendation Medal. edited to add That after his death Admiral Zumwalt, his commander in Vietnam, defended him after saying that he had been authorized to wear the V device even though the Navy had no record of it.

Thats what I thought. I don't if wears them at drill or not. I saw him at a funeral of a Guardsman friend of mine that got killed in a car wreck on the way to Drill. He was dressed in his Blues and was sporting the Bubble and Gold Wings. When I ask where he went to Dive School he started changing the subject. It pissed me off but I did not have a way to confirm he was FOS.
