No, this ISN'T a rant on socialized medicine. I'm looking at consolidating our health insurance into a somewhat more streamlined policy.
I'm looking at the web site: http://www.ehealthinsurance.com
Here's some questions:
Anyone here use it?
I live in Texas; and the above-listed web-site gives BlueCross/BlueShield of Texas very high marks. Anyone here ever use them? Opinions?
We're eligible for TriCare (Military Medical Care). Anyone know of a good supplemental health insurance plan that supports TriCare?
Anyone use HSAs in Texas? Wells Fargo has one I'm interested in.
Any other web sites out there to shop and compare health and dental insurance?

Tracy,
I also now live in TX -- and when we looked at changing our BC/BS policy from TN to TX, we found that Aetna looked to be a better deal.
I cannot comment to dental insurance, as we simply don't use it (don't believe in it).
So far, the Aetna policy seems to be working out for us just fine.
BTW, I got my policy through ehealthinsurance, the link you are looking at....

I use both Tricare and Aetna and pretty much have everything covered. I don't remember the last time I payed for anything out of pocket.

Tricare sucks, try finding a local provider who will take new TC patients.
My ex had/has BC/BS and we never had any problems. (note we lived in LA/MD).

I have Tricare that my compnay PAYS for through a reimbursement program paid monthly. I have dental insurance ( I sureasfuck believe in it after forking out $875 for my HALF of my wife's root canal) with Aetna through my company- they are great and pay quickly. i also have vision insurance- $1.82 a pay period that covers glasses for my wife and daughter- 2 pair every 2 years unless the prescription changes.
I'm hardly using any of it- no cavities (lately) and 20/10 vision...

We have TriCare Standard and use a supplement plan from ASI. I don't have any issues with them. I first bought the supplement in 91, individual plan. (We had to wait 1 year before pre-existing conditions were covered) Later my employer picked up ASI so I was able to up-grade to a better corp plan. I still have it, cost $160 a month for the family.

Also look at other care, namely Chiropractic services. BC/BS had that.

I have an HSA and love the way it is adminstered. Since I don't go to the doc often and am the only one on my policy, it's great. I also love the fact that the money I am paying into the system stays with me until I spend it. If you're fairly healthy, it is the way to go.
