Well I guessthe RESO program is being shut down. Next summer there will be no RESO and if I pass Phase 2 this summer I will not be able to take a Phase 3. All MOlitia Officers will now be Mid-Sip (or whatever however the fuk you spell it) trained which is retarded. Thats sucks for me because I want to go Regs. RESO 1 is the biggest waste of time ever. I can't complain too much because I'm getting Cpl Basic ($97 a day) 7 days a week. This week is the last week Monday-Friday in the field. Small party taskings the whole week. Gotta do 2 and pass 1. If you pass the 1st and fail the 2nd you gotta pass a 3rd. If you fail the 1st and pass the 2nd then you're okay. I'm no super soldier but I can't believe some of the Ocdts were let into the military. There are some PSO's out there on crack.

Can anyone confirm this? If this is true, by the current standards, no reserve officers will be able to go on tours or CT??? What then is the point of a reserve?

I know they've had huge problems from very high attrition rates, and were talking about making phase 2 last something crazy like almost a year, covering military law, anything and everything, and talking about numerous options, but I've never heard this.

I still think it would save time and money to send (ALL Combat Arms) officers through BAOT/BCT, then off to Ranger school, instead of having 90% of them bugger up their knees stumbling through tank ruts in Gagtown on the phase courses playing WW3, Cold War, Germany based doctrine war games.

I like the way the Brits do it. Everybody joins as an OR, does the same basic and initial trade trg. After some time (3years I think) you can CFR to officer. Cuts down on duplicity of common courses, expeditures and logistics. Also an officer will know what being an enlisted man is all about.

I heard that there was some sort of meeting of co's of reserve regiments back east and that there was some sort of presentation outlining the dismantaling of RESO , but the CO's were all unaware and quite upset about it. this is all like third hand info but i also was told that the reason for them getting RESO phased out was due to a high failer rate, I sure hope this aint the case since I'm suposed to be going to RESO next summer (just missed going by 2 days delay in paper work).

Good Discussion, although I am undecided as to whether it is a discussion, or merely more of a quelling the masses type thing.
Dont knwo if will have any impact on thse senior O's or if they have already made up their minds.
