ALCON,

I am posting this job for a friend:

This is a short term position through the end of March (longer depending on any unforeseen changes to tasking) with a company based in Maryland. The company has three locations (Stevensville, MD, Quantico, VA, and Norfolk, VA). They are currently contracted to update several Marine Corps maintenance and operator’s publications.

Needed is a subject matter expert on the following foreign weapons:

• KALASHNIKOV 7.62X39MM ASSAULT RIFLE (AK-47)
• DEGTYARYOV 7.62X39MM LIGHT MACHINE GUN (RPD)
• KALASHNIKOV 5.45X39MM ASSAULT RIFLE (AK-74)
• ROCKET PROPELLED GRENADE (RPG-7)
• DISPOSABLE ANTI-TANK ROCKET LAUNCHER (RPG-22)
• RUSSIAN 82MM MORTAR (2B14-1)
• DEGTYARYOV SHPAGIN 12.7X108MM HEAVY MACHINE GUN (DSHK)
• DRAGUNOV 7.62X54MM SNIPER RIFLE (SVD)
• KALASHNIKOV 7.62X54MM GENERAL PURPOSE MACHINE GUN (PKM)
• HECKLER & KOCH 7.62X51MM ASSAULT RIFLE (G3)
• 7.62X51MM LIGHT AUTOMATIC RIFLE (FN/FAL)
• ROCKET PROPELLED GRENADE LAUNCHER (RPG-7V)
Also needed is an SME for the following weapons:
• 60-MM LIGHTWEIGHT COMPANY MORTAR (M224)
• 81-MM MORTAR (M252)
Expectations:
• Field content queries from writers.
• Review current publications in process for inaccurate, unclear, or insufficient content.
• Assist in preparation for client reviews, and attend review meetings if possible.
• Be available (in person or by phone and email) through the end of March, 2010.

The SME will work with writers (up to four at a given time) to ensure content accuracy. Content finalization is expected by the end of February to prepare material for client review meetings in March. If the SME isn't available to attend these reviews, the SME will prepare the company’s representative prior to each meeting.

Optimally, the company wants the foreign weapons SME to work full-time at one of their three locations at least through January. If necessary, the company will consider using more than one qualified candidate for part-time consultation via phone and email.

Interested parties can contact Cathi Madden for more information. She is an employee of the company assigned to this tasking and is initially fielding candidates for their human resources office.

yes.... I was told they need more than one. But, people would have to confirm that with Cathi.

When you start working with them.... tell Cathi I said hi. I explained to her that we are kind of a small world :)

I did all my correspondence thru a guy named Michael Fretwell. If I happen to talk w/ her, I will pass that on. I'll be working on this project remotely from CA. I have a job in CA as well, but we're down for the Holiday&I need income!! Times are tough!!
