Hello,
I posted in the intro section, possibly twice as I do not come here often, and I joined a while back. Anyway I was a Infantry Captain in 2-69AR 3rd Bde 3rd ID, and did a fairly standard tour of 15 months in Iraq with the surge as a XO in Alpha company and as an Assistant S3.
After I left the Army I became involved in the world of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ).
BJJ is a very tight community, all claims are easily verified.
Anyway, a guy named Brandon Quick claimed to be a Brown Belt and was making a lot of money off of it. He was found to be a total fraud. He is still teaching people who do not know any better, and are to lazy to verify there instructor.
Now Brandon Quick is claiming to be a 18C. He said this on his closed forums, and has told many people in the BJJ community in casual conversations. He has refused to provide any more info.
On page 9 of this thread is a screen capture of his exact claims:
http://www.mixedmartialarts.com/mma.cfm?go=forum_framed.posts&forum=11&thread=1566484&page=9
Here is a picture of Brandon from a google image search:
http://www.purifiedsoul.com/Purified_Soul_MMA_Apparel_jpeg/mma_warrior_brandon.jpg
Any help at all would be appreciated. I did a search for his name and nothing turned up on here.

While I'm not from that Community I do a lot of work with guys from the SOF Community.
There is nothing "Possible" about it, this guy is an absolute fuck'in liar !!! It seems to be an epidemic, that is contagious...

Let me Google that for you.... (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&source=hp&fkt=3750&fsdt=13218&q=%2B%22brandon+quick%22+%2Biraq&aq=f&oq=&aqi=g10)
Well, from the first page of Google results, it appears he was in the Army and his claims of combat service in Iraq are correct...now the unit is another story
While the war may be over for many Americans, Miller has friends still in Iraq. They include Sgt. Brandon Quick, 21, who graduated from Canyon High School in 2000 and is now serving in Iraq with the 3rd Cavalry.
This from an article in 2004 (http://www.thefreelibrary.com/DONATIONS+TO+GO+TO+TROOPS+IN+IRAQ.-a0113355446)
Perhaps he meant to say in his screenshot comment that he worked with SF as an EOD guy (if he was EOD...there are others here that can likely more conclusively verify that claim)
That link above is enough for me to stop after an arduous 2 minutes of google searching. I'd say his current professional community is doing a pretty good job of ripping apart his other claims.

Wow. Just WOW.
EOD as an 18C? No. The MMA bubbas are tearing him up; although they need a little more focus on their new chew toy...
I guess "Poser Season" has officially opened. Just be sure to stop by the Game Warden Office to tag and catalog your trophies...

I "heard" that this year there is no tag requirement because the population has gotten so out of control it needs some substantial "culling!"

Is your screen name "AirborneSwayze" because you've been to jump school and you beat people up in bars just like Patrick Swayze in "Road House", only utilizing this "BJJ" rather than roundhouse kicks to the face?
Please tell me I'm jumping to conclusions again...

Now to the task at hand....
Didn't we dime this guy out already or did we do it half-assed and not request legal action?
Let's look at what we can find, meanwhile anyone with data on this fuck, PM or email it to me.

My nickname used to be Swayzie, I have been to jump school. Unfortunately I have never been a bouncer. But I have ripped out a mans throat before disposing of him in a lake... if that helps.

Here is a copy of the message I sent to Brandon after paying $14 to join his little BJJ web site.
Brandon,
My name is TFG, and I am retired Special Forces LTC. It has come to our attention that you have made claims of being Special Forces Qualified, yet despite our research can find no record of you ever having attended the school. While our research shows a great deal of contraversy over your martial arts qualifications, we are unconcerned with these claims and only ask that you: 1, Produce a DD-214 or orders awarding you the 18C mos / qualification, 2, come to our forum (Not a martial arts forum, but a forum for Special Operations folks of all flavors), join the forum and apologize. If either course of action is elected we will part ways and never hear from one another again. If not, we will continue to collect information on your claims and submit this information to the appropriate US Attorney for prosecution under the Stolen Valor Act. Once you have rectified this situation, I will be glad to post on your MMA forum that you have made the claim, but have rectified the situation and we are glad that you have resolved the situation. Please feel free to contact me at XXX@gmail.com

Which cat? Patrick Swayze? I'd never speak ill of the dead!
Unless...it provided me with yet another opportunity to inject Kayne West into the scenario:

Before you children succomb to the sugar high, I tracked this guy down and insisted he apologize. Despite the other issues in his life, he does realize the errors in his way and apologizes at the end of a series of emails. (See Below) I think we can close the book on this one.
After he deleted my account at his website, I sent this:

Deleting my account on your site will not halt my efforts. Understand that I in no way shape or form want to add to the issues you face. From what I have read, and for what it is worth, you appear to know what you are doing in the MMA world. I am certainly no authority, but many of these guys seem jealous that you have taken the bold step and they have not.
My only issue is your bold step in claiming to be a Special Forces soldier. I have buried too many friends over the last 10 years to allow their honor to be tainted like this. If you are the man you claim to be, you will do the right thing and apologize. If you don't, then perhaps I did misjudge you. I look forward to your response.

The unfortunate thing about forums is it is soley used for gossip, drama and occationally people just truely talking. The people who have attacked me on the internet have twisted my statements and even gone as far as posting pics of my family and making horrific remarks. Mma.tv is completely biased and even has a moderator deleting posts by myself and others making me look even worse. Unfortunately, a guy took a picture of a post, a single post I made and not the entire conversation...very deceiving. Anyhow, we were speaking of schools that I went to when I was in the Army in that conversation and places I had been. I did go to SF selection and aimed for SF engineer. This did not work out and shortly after my unit deployed to OIF 1. I do apologize for the statement and especially that the drama on a jiu jitsu forum spilled over into military matters. I too have buried friends while serving and do not wish to cause discredit to any unit of our armed forces. Once again I do apologize. On another note, I deleted your profile because I did not want any problems from some wierdo from a forum but I checked you out and therefore I am responding to you.
Happy Holidays
Brandon Quick
I closed the issue with this:
Brandon,
Thanks for the note. I will post your note below, in its entirety, where the special operations community can view it. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Good luck in your endeavors and thank you for taking care of this in a timely and mature manner.

You should probably not antagonize him lest he put you in a "wrist lock" or something of that fashion. Or maybe he'll "roll" with you and force you to "submit".
