I'm looking for information (specs and general purposes) on Canadian small arms. Every thing from the biggest MG too side arms. Every thing about them, what weapons are assigned too what rank, the max range, the the fps the projectile travels at, every thing about canadian armed forces small arms.I figured what a better place too ask, since I'm being graded on this in a science fair.

uhh....just go to the DND website and all the info we are allowed to talk about is there. IF you want even more info go to the company's website but I dont think anyone is about to tell you very much. CF small arms in a science fair eh? I did my science fair project on the wavelenths of differents lights and the sounds they can be converted into.

Lol, you guys always this suspicious? Heh, why cant you guys talk about what you guys use as standard issue? It's not like I don't already know, but I want info on how accurate they are, how affective, stuff like that. I'm not asking for any top secret stuff (I know you guys won't tell. My uncle was in special forces, he won't tell anything, but he was torched at some point, about 20 or so whip scares on his back) Seriously, if there is another forum where normal grunts go too, tell me! http://www.socnetcentral.com/ubboard/smile.gif

Standard issue rifle: Lee-Enfield Mk4. 10rnds, about 2800 fps. Accurate out to 800m
Standard grenade: Mills Bomb Mk36, CEP about 15m
All officers are also armed with the Webly .455 pistol, 6 rnds, revolving lockwork, double action.
Standard platoon weapons det MG: Vickers .303, liquid cooled, tripod mount. Good for sustained ROF of 400RPM. Bulky but damn dependable.
Some of the other guys might know more.

Airborne troops and Commandos carry sten guns, fully automatic 9mm. There is also rumours of a new combat rifle being brought into the system, manufactured by FN, it's called the FAL, but we'll probably think up some foolish name like a C1. Our Snipers recently upgraded from the Ross rifle to a L42 Enfield, British and Australians use it as well.

Theres rumours that the militia might be upgrading to Ross rifles and losing their broomsticks.

The Clothe the Soldier guys came around last week, with all the new kit. That Ross looks pretty cool, but I still like the Snyder-Enfield. More knock down power.
Come on, the PIAT will never make it to the Militia. We never saw the Bren gun carriers did we?

No fair! How do you guys score all the sweet weaponry when me and the rest of the knuckle-dragging, mouth-breathing line animals in my coy get stuck with these (http://www.diemaco.com/images/sal-sfw.gif)?
It's bad enough we're still stuck with this (http://www.diemaco.com/images/sal-cg.gif)piece of junk as the section LMGs.
But the *very* worst is that we are still stuck using those Rayathon/Hughes C666 DeathRay/Laser/Phaser Platoon Support Weapons. You guys can't tell me they aren't a cast iron bitch to clean. We blew our last parade night detail stripping and cleaning that bitch. Brigade keeps telling us the C669s are on order, but you know how Brigade REMFs are.
Oh well, could be worse. We might still be stuck with C7s and C9s. <sigh>

Yeah I'm getting sick of spending all my thursday night cleaning my Cock Rocket. These damn Cock Rockets are a pain in the Ass to pull around. I'm humped up to many hills with my big damn Cock Rocket slung over my shoulder.
Yes I have been drinking.....

The cock rocket, now there's a weapon. Dishes out the cock at 700 rounds a minute, with fragmentation effect... everybody gets a piece.

Actually, I recently found out that quite a few of the Reserve Units are starting to use paintball guns for training. I guess it would be a beneficial training tool in some ways, but generally I still think it is sad.

Think that's sad, we have to buy commercial fireworks if we want any pyro. Roman candles make hilarious para flares.
"..OK, actions on para flare, if it's red, drop, if it's green..."

Wow, you really have to? I thought our training budget sucked. I guess some kinds of commercial fireworks would be fun to use, like sparklers instead of glow sticks.

Tony, I hope you're just joking... I might be transferring to the CSR in a few years.
Is B Coy on Bay Street or up in Nanaimo?
TonyM
29 October 2001, 01:34
Joking? I was bragging. The only inf res unit really worth joining in Canada would be the QOR.
B coy is in Nanaimo, A and HQ is in Vic (Bay Street Armoury).
Rumour is we're getting a new building. 5 0r 6 mil. For 5 mil, I could stand up a res JTF unit here, complete with 2 helicopters and keep the old camp for training.

We throw hocky pucks and beer at our enemies.
And when they are drunk or disorientated, we charge and beat them to death with hockey sticks.
