Does anyone know what CIMIC Teams are? There was a posting on our admin board outside our BOR about it, and from the sounds of it it's a community liason team that gets the call up if there's a domestic disaster or for gladhanding the locals overseas. I was asking our admin pouges about it, but all they could offer up was that stare that says "Duuuuh, I just work here". It sounds like something I could get interested in, so does anyone know the requirements to apply for it or have a better idea of what these teams do? Thanks guys.

CIMIC = Civil-Military Cooperation. It has been ages since I've covered it, but the term is usually incorrectly applied. Technically, it can cover things such as procurement of resources and services from host population , or assisting in smoothing the application of military control over a pop. Anything that helps out a visiting or occupying force in its relation with the host or occupied pop.
These days, the term is often used in more of a public relations, or liaison officer context, which is what I'd suspect these positions are. It could well be a jammy job, though recent article I've read may indicate the potential for future instability in the FYR in the near future (basically - the US is kissing every Muslim ass it can find to ensure a coalition - to the point of ignoring abuses/war crime by Muslim forces in the FYR, particularly in Macedonia).

Find bossi at cdnarmy.ca (i'm not sure if he frequents socnet).
He's the Ops O for the LFCA CIMIC team.
I'm sure he can tell you everything you want to know.
Cheers,
