I was just talking to my friend and he says that 3 PPCLI is leaving 20-22 December. He says that its in the news out west but here in the east I haven't heard anything.

On CNN a little while ago PM Blair was saying that they want to have a peacekeeping force on the ground by 22 Dec 01. In the list of nations was Canada. For everything I've heard 3VP is supposed to be shipping out troops for 22 Dec. Has anyone one else heard whether or not we're going to be sending anyone?

Yeah I've heard they're going. Our Pl WO told us "Don't call 3PPCLI to see if they'll take you. " Apparently they've been getting calls from res guys all over the country asking to go. Rumint also suggests they've made up the numbers from 1 PPCLI, so CRIC will have to expand a lot.

I would look at the following and see if things add up.

1. 3PPCLI going to Afghanistan with only 3 INF COY's 1 of which is from 2 PPCLI plus part of another. WHy would they send a force with 25% of the Line COY's missing?

2. 1PPCLI with CRIC starts workup for Bosnia in June for Roto 11

3. G7 Confernce in Kanaskis (Calgary) in July requiring 1,000+ troops

4. 2 PPCLI slated for ROTO 12 with 1/2 their guys gone to Afghanistan.

5. Who's going to be left to do training in Wainwright and Chilliwack. I here they are ramping up Chilliwack for QL2/3 training. Wainwright just for Leadership courses this year!!

Better check if LFWA has enough people do all of this!!!!

I get the distinct feeling that the "Leadership" is somewhat disconnected with reality. Does anyone else see the parallels between the CF and the Marcos's regime in the Phillipines? It all has a very third-world feeling about it.

Geez, you guys never heard about the Marcos's? C'mon it was in all the papers. Back in the 80's they were in power in the Phillipines, pretty much raped the economy for their own pleasure, misused their power, destroyed the military, misinformed the public, and were generally unconcered with the population........

I got my avawhatever off the Infantry School website then resized it in LView. You can't load your own unless you have 300 posts I think. Talk to one of the admin fools about not being a "JR".
