I'm thinking of buying one of these for my M-4.

Anyone have any experience with them?

Thanks

Rick

I haven't seen one up close so I don't know about quality, etc.

Someone posted that the diode is at the 6:00 position so it will be visible/block the view of the front sight if you are co-witnessing with it. Compared to the Aimpoint H1/T1 which has the diode at 5:00 so it isn't in the way.

I finally got it yesterday- pretty small and lightweight (duhhhhhhh)

Immediate drawback- will work with no problem on a flat top with no front sight post or flip-ups, but when I mounted in on the Rock River Tactical carrying handle (so generously sent by KSM from the Pay It Foward section), it blocks the rear sight, so co-witnessing is impossible.

This may find itself on my shotgun instead...

You might want to try see through riser mount. They are a mount that allows you to see under and through the mount. If not a standard riser mount on the flat top and a BUIS may put the optic at the correct height for a good co-witness.

Another option is an off-set mount.

Rock River Tactical carrying handle

Looks like you got a pretty sweet paper weight!

I'd send back the mini red dot before I'd retire that carry handle...;)

I have a side rail insert (it sets at a 45 degree angle between my top and right rail on my fore end) for just that purpose (the red dot), so i can switch between my 4 power and the reflex. However, the dot i have is crappy.... so let me know what you think about it (before I get one).

Its small, with good adjustment. The brightness adjustment knob is tight enough to stay put but easy enough that you can turn it up without removing the weapon from your shoulder.

Battery life leaves a little to be desired (200 hours per battery)

other than it blocks my fixed iron sights on the carrying handle, it GTG.

Its the same as the Sig Sauer one-exactly the same by the same Chinese mfr.

Botachdefense.com is where I got it. Join the site (no charge) and you get 'preferred' prices... i.e. this listed for $149.95 and I got it for $130.00 plus s&h

Thats not bad.... I was looking at a TRS-25 for the side mount, but its too tall.. that one should do just fine...
