Posting to see if anyone recognizes the manufacturer of the vest worn by the soldier on the home page of the Drudgereport.
I don't recognize the design of the 40mm pouches which appear to have no bottom strap to retain the round. The photos is on www.drugereport.com about a quarter of the way down the page.
Thanks.

Ya, the link doesn't work, but I just searched "Drudge Report".
In response to your question....
Not sure who the manufacturer is, but that particular style of 40mm pouch requires no bottom strap, as the nylon that is surrounding the main part of the casing is smaller in diameter than the lower base ring of the casing. Creating a snug fit.
Therefore, it keeps it from falling completely thru.
I have found over time and use tho', that the nylon stretches, and eventually the round will fall thru the bottom.
In this case I have simply reversed the pouch (upsidedown), so that the "top strap" then becomes the bottom.
Not to say that during severe activity, the rounds won't "jump" out of the top.
Considering how the industry has grown in recent years, I can't imagine this type of pouch isn't readily available on the various gear sites.
btw... you'll probably be needing to do an intro. (as directed by website policy) if your going to be posting, and some creds. in your profile.
Who are you??

Understood. I joined this site back in '05 and don't recall seing the site policy back then. My bad. I've updated my profile.

Rgr that. I don't believe it was required back then. I fell into that same category, as I've actually been a member since 2003 (although my profile says 2007, lost profile, and a name change later....), but I'm sure the Mods/Admins, and members appreciate our "catching up". ;)
Just trying to keep you "off the radar" for the wrong reasons.

Can't really see how it is attached in that picture though.

Hell, I just cut off the straps and zip-tied the bandoleer that the 40mm came with to my kit. Zip-tied the bandoleers around the truck too.
I SO wanted a 203 pistol grip though.

And in the process putting yourself there instead?
We have plenty of Mod's to take care of things like this (which was already done).
