Does anyone had any info on the .260 Remington round? I can't find much info myself. I ask because a friend of mine said the Secret Service uses it for their sniper rifles, but I'm just not picturing it.

RatSniper,
The 6.5mm-308 (Rem. 260) has been used in NRA competition for approx. 10 years. About 6 or 7 years ago, long range competitors started shooting the 6.5mm-284 Win. This round has been winning most of the recent long range rifle championships, including Camp Perry's Leach Cup and Wimbledon Cup. Mid T... told me that he was pushing the 142 gr. Berger or Cauterucio VLD bullets at 3200 ft/sec MV.
I hope this helps!

last I heard, the SS snipers are still use the 7mmMag and 300 WM. The 260 rem and the 6.5 x 284 are sweet rounds for long range...they have ballistics like the 300 wm and 7mmMag without the sore shoulder.

Carl, so how is Mrs. and Mr. T doing? I enjoyed watching her kick his butt on the 1,000 yard line at Perry in 1995. WOW!

Sharky,
Sorry, just saw your post!
Mid and Nancy are doing fine, and their Daughters are shooting real good.
I'll see them this Thanksgiving week at the Arizona State High Power Rifle Champoinships.
Was it 1995 when Nancy won the Leech Cup and the next day Mid won the Wimbledon with the same 6.5mm-284 Win. rifle? Maybe it was 96 or 97.
Do you regularly compete at Camp Perry? What are you shooting?
Keep Holding'em Hard!
Carl
