Navy adopts SR25

The Knight's SR25 7.62X51mm SWS in a slightly modified version has been adopted by NSW as the Mk 11 Mod 0. The most noticable feature is the shortening of the barrel from 24" to 20"(and possible addition of a flash suppresssor). Modifications of internal parts were made to adjust for the shorter barrel. App. 300 weapons are being procured this year.

Hey, we also have the dates for 2001 Sniper Challenge set, plus $5,000 in prizes with a year to get the other $20,000. Plan on letting 30-36 teams shoot this year.

Is the Mk 11 the first time a SR-25 has been fitted with rail adapter system?

FAR 52.211-15 Defense Priority and Allocation Requirement*******Inspection of supplies to be furnished hereunder shall be made by cognizant DCMC personnel at the contractor's or subcontractor's plant. At the Contractor's facility, the contractor's acceptance testing of these weapons shall consist of firing 100 rounds for functioning to break-in the weapon. Each rifle, without the suppressor, shall fire four consecutive, five round groups at 100 yards, groups measured center to center, two shall be less than 1 MOA, and the other two shall not exceed 1.5 MOA. One paper target consisting of the 4 groups shall be supplied per weapon.
