i am planning on becoming a marine scout sniper and i was wondering how close of a match the Rem 700 is to the M-40 and would it be a good idea to get one, so that i could get used to how they fire.

Are you a Marine Infantryman yet? Do you shoot the qual crs with a High expert score ?

Have you mastered the numerous field skills that an experianced infantryman is required to know prior to being selecting to indoc into a Scout/Sniper Plt. ?

If the answer to either question is no. Then get your priorities streight, and save your money. Conquer the basics, and get set for the reality. The Marine Corps will provide you with everything else. Including trigger time with an M40A1 prior to sending you to Sniper School.
